This is a Wonderful Movie!

I started watching this movie when it came out in 1983 and continued watching it for several years every Christmas. From start to finish my eyes would be "glued" to the TV screen! The acting was so real that I felt like I was part of the movie. My heart went out to Janet, played by Lee Remick, who had lost her mother, Played by Andela Lansbury, and then by way of a miracle was able to spend a few glorious days with her, even if it was a dream. This movie far surpasses It's a Wonderful Life. This movie is what Christmas is all about! I have been searching for this movie for years and it is never played on televsion anymore nor is it at the video store.

mothers favorite

My mother recorded this tv movie when it played and i recorded over it.Tried finding it for many years after without any luck.This story reminded my mom of her mother,a heart warming story of love and family at xmas time,it wasn't IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE but to my mother it was a piece of her younger days with her mother caught on film.Hope to see it again someday.

One of my favorites

I was so happy to see that other people are looking for a copy of this movie and have enjoyed it as I have. I love it and have seen it on TV several times. However, as most of you have said, it is no longer shown and is not on video. How I wish I had taped it. I would also be interested in obtaining a copy. The story is warm and interesting.

an old fashioned touch of the heart

simple, small town, going back to where you are from...a movie i can watch over and over again - and hope to as long as my tape lasts. the message about the "secret place" is one that i take to heart in my own marriage. every once in awhile a movie just hits all the buttons that make it heart-warming, this movie does it in a subtle, but effective way.
