Avis à la une
Boring boring and boring, just wasted 2hrs of my life waiting something to happen. And those paintings my two years old draws better, 4 points for cinematography, acting was so wooden. Avoid at all costs.
I give this movie only 5 stars out of 10 stars, because one of the movies from this very same director, a movie called "Kätilö" in Finnish, included a gid damn swastika in it's poster. Nevertheless, Helene Schjerfbeck was and will always be one of the greatest painters in Finnish history, but let me remind you everyone that this bloke was just plain wrong guy to direct this kind of movie.
There is no doubt that there is a high demand for feature films promoting women artists and entrepreneurs. Of particular interest are those who have achieved success and recognition, as they serve as a source of inspiration and striving for success among the younger generation.
However, to a modern viewer, it may seem that this film lacks action and thrills. And synergy with contemporary issues.
However, there is always room for improvement. For example, the plot could have two main characters - one Elena, and the other lives in the modern world and, like Elena, has a strong desire to invest her life in her own goals, achieving professional and personal growth.
The theme of the struggle for women's rights has been extremely important in all areas since the time of the Roman Empire and attracted the attention of not only women, but also men who bow to strong and independent women.
And the role of women in Finland has always been great, and it is not for nothing that the Finns became the first nation to give women the right to political elections, and now they have a woman prime minister.

Leading role was superb! Laura Birn really commands the screen. Every other roles were well played too, good casting. Set decorating was best that I've ever seen in a finnish movie!
And finally cinematography was like art itself(painted art). Wow!
Highly recommended!
Beautifully shot film! Looks like a painting in itself. Laura Birn gives a performance of a lifetime. Loved it!
