Soundproof

This is a thrilling watch, the tone of the movie is generally hard hitting and at times quite a dark and gritty drama but well balanced with humour and some beautiful locations. The intimacy and intensity of the mobile home and in-car scenes mixed with the sweeping shots of the lake and surrounding post-apocalyptic structures are a visual treat.

Above all, the casting / acting is fantastic. The raw talent and actors' abilities to uplift this film from an aesthetically pleasing flick to a thoroughly captivating indy movie, kept me on the edge of my seat.

I can't wait to see what the director and actors have in store for us next!

Soundproof is exactly the sort of film I love. It's a completely believable story, character driven, yet suspenseful. Great performances from all the cast, particularly the two young actors, Ellie Bindman and Gabe Robinson. I like the way that the film moved to some interesting locations and really used them to develop the plot.

It just goes to show how good a small-budget indie film can be. I wasn't surprised to read that Soundproof has won awards at film festivals in the UK and abroad. I would recommend Soundproof to anyone who enjoys their films grounded in reality and I will certainly be giving it a second viewing.

More like the dumbest family in the galaxy, with the dumb apples not falling far from the extremely dumb apple tree.

The only likeable character was the friend who worked in the bar, and was the only one who showed some type of common sense.

This rendition would have been better as a dark comedy with how idiotic this family behaves.

And I almost made it to the halfway point, but this fiasco took a hard right to stupidville, and I got off the bus at the junction. I just couldn't suspend my grasp of reality to the degree necessary to semi enjoy this.

Two stars since I couldn't stomach this to the very end.

Totally blown away by the emotional roller coaster experienced watching this film.

I've not seen such an authentic production and acting for a very very long time... the directors and actors are bound to be snapped up by bigger budget film makers, if this is what they can produce on their own.

It seems like the makers of the film, had a super low budget.

To bring out a production like this, they have been very creative with the settings and have recruited very talented actors ...I'm sure we will see more of all involved with this film.

Watching this space, to see what else they can bring to our screens.

Soundproof is a gripping story with a realistic gritty & believable plot line. The acting was accomplished and convincing. There is plenty of action and drama. It deals sensitively with hard hitting issues. The mothers character is very relatable and you feel immediate sympathy for her. The daughters character is also especially sympathetic. Set in London and Kent with incredible cinematography. There is a bit of realistic violence which isn't gratuitous but could upset younger viewers. It would be fantastic to see in on the big screen, but sadly this is not currently possible but do yourself a favour and watch it!
