Commando Ninja

This is all over the place in terms of pacing and references (down to certain specific iconic shots) BUT it's made with love and full of gore and action. The plot is weak and there's no ending really, BUT when you have so much 80's cheese, you can't go wrong. Much better than Kung Fury!

I loved this movie! Brought a huge grin to my face the whole time with the epic 80s cliches coming hard and fast. Even watched the Making Of doc. Definitely recommended if you're an 80s kid.

This is the first time I've ever written a review for a movie on IMDb. I felt the need to write this review because Commando Ninja might possibly be the greatest movie I've ever seen.

I recommend this to anybody that is a fan of the 80s action movie genre. It's a fast paced movie with amazing actors and an incredible storyline. I can't say enough about this movie, it is a must see.

I thought this film was brilliant. It hits every single '80s cliche. Magnum PI, Commando, Predator, Miami Vice, any jean claude van damme film u name, terminator... the list just goes on. I will admit i do like my s****e films but that shouldn't put you off. Anyone over the age of 35 or so will find enough pop culture references to keep them at least chuckling throughout the film if not outright laughing. Definatly worth a watch and one of the more amusing films i've seen. Even down to the little touches like solar panels in 1986 and film posters that didn't come out till 2-3 yrs after when it's supposed to be set. (spoiler) I loved the way the kid managed to set a trap for the ninja in the time it took said ninja to walk up the stairs. The only film i can think of that was better for this whole schlock type thing was Iron Sky 2. The Coming Race.

Fun, silly low-budget splatterfest. All tongue-in-cheek as it spoofs vintage action, sci-fi and horror flicks. But it ends abruptly and without important closure on the plot (to the extent that one exists). Were they planning on a sequel, or did they just run out of money? For a cheapie like this, they may have been forced to wrap when the camera guy's mom called him home for supper. Even so, if they ever do shoot Commando Ninja 2, I'll be there to watch where these folks go with it.
