Feng kuang de wai xing ren

In the effort to make fun, but the laughter is not good enough. The distorted images of aliens and monkeys in the film seem to be trying to say something deeper, but they are too deep.

"Feng kuang de wai xing ren" (aka "Crazy Alien") was a movie that somewhat snuck in under the radar. I was given the chance to watch it, and given my interest and fascination with Asian movies, of course I jumped at the chance.

While "Crazy Alien" definitely is entertaining and enjoyable, the laughs were unfortunately few and far in between. It was a shame, because the movie had all the ingredients to be something fantastic and hilarious, but it ultimately fell through when it mattered the most. As such, the movie will not become a classic, nor will it be a movie that you'll watch more than once. Now, don't get me wrong, because "Crazy Alien" is not a bad movie, far from it. It just lacked more comedy situations to make the audience laugh.

The acting in the movie was good, and they did have a good ensemble of acting talents to perform in the movie. Bo Huang and Zheng Xu were carrying the movie quite well with their performances. However, it was the CGI animated alien and the monkey that stole the show, no doubt about it.

The story was good and it was easy to follow. You quickly get immersed into the storyline and there is a good pacing to the story, that is for certain.

As for the CGI, well that was good, definitely good. The CGI animated alien and monkey were great and looked realistic for the most parts actually. And that definitely added some great enjoyment to the movie.

"Crazy Alien" is a movie well worth watching, but it is hardly a movie that you watch more than once.

This is a lovely movie. Don't be too strict. Who knows if the humorous style of this movie is the next one wulitou style. Ning Hao is a smart director who understands the tastes of the most ordinary Chinese audience. It's interesting, but it doesn't give up the plot. Not forgetting to salute the classic movies, not forgetting to satirize the society

Good experience to watch and after that, you may want to watch again, which prove that CA is not a comedy. Actually, it embodies huge cutural password. I hope you can understand understand it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cinematic experience. I had the opportunity to view it twice and found myself in stitches each time. While the plot may not have been entirely unexpected, the humor was exceptionally well-crafted. While some viewers may not appreciate the nuances of the comedy, I found it to be highly amusing.
