In 2015, HBO launched Ballers, a slick sports saga riding Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s invincible Hollywood momentum. Promising a glimpse into the NFL’s high-stakes money grind and personal comeback tales, the series had all the elements to capture attention.

Johnson played Spencer Strasmore, a former football star turned financial consultant. Spectators tuned in, inquisitive to see The Rock flex not just brawn but his acting breadth. Yet, although it ran five seasons, Ballers left critics debating its overly polished, predictable formula and cautious storytelling choices.

An expert has assessed an asteroid collision scene from The Expanse for scientific accuracy. A show that aired three seasons on SyFy and three seasons on Prime Video from 2015 until 2019, The Expanse characters were forced to try and maintain a fragile intergalactic peace. Even though HBO has produced many underrated shows and series that are perfect for binging, it is impressive that the company made a show that was so technically realistic. The series follows Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch), a programmer who founds a startup company, Pied Piper, and the challenges of competing with larger entities.

Part of the appeal of war and military movies has to do with the fact that they're often based on real-life events and the way real-life situations are portrayed. Regardless of the excessive carnage that some movies are obligated to depict, the military genre is very popular across generations. But how exactly real are they? Former Marine Corps special operations team leader Elliot Ackerman offers his valuable perspective.

Ackerman's resume speaks for itself. The former service member was part of the Marine Raiders group as well as a CIA operative for covert operations. Since retiring, he has followed a writing career, winning several awards in the field. The winner of a Silver Star, Purple Heart and Bronze Star has enough experience to validate whether Hollywood's most important military films are realistic or not.

Before she took on the role of Mandy in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Emily Osment was known for playing Miley Cyrus’ on-screen Bff in the Disney hit Hannah Montana. However, the reality was far from what appeared on screen. Though playing best friends on TV, both Osment and Cyrus had a hard time getting along, especially after the show blew up to be such a huge hit.

With a new season of television, especially one in the medical or procedural drama, chances are a new character will come in. But would that have been the case if The Resident hadn’t been canceled after six seasons and instead had returned for a seventh? TV Insider asked co-creator Amy Holden Jones and executive producer Andrew Chapman just that when they detailed what would have happened in a Season 7. “No, because we had Yamada [Ian Anthony Dale], and we hadn’t used him enough, so he was like the major new character,” Jones told us. To mark the occasion, Jaws aired over three hours on NBC this past Friday, June 20th, beginning at 8pm Et – and Programming Insider reports that that was the most-watched primetime telecast of the night, pulling in 3.261 million viewers! Here are the top 10 primetime telecasts, based on total viewers:

It's easy to assume that 28 Days Later alludes to the movie's events, the immediate aftermath of the Rage Virus outbreak. It turns out fans of the franchise are way off base. "The title was based on… it used to be when you returned goods, [28 days] was what you always had," director Boyle explained via Cinemablend. "[Back] then it was like, you have 28 days in which to return this good, to get your money back, or stuff like that. It was a common usage [sort] of thing.
