The highly anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayerrevival has majorly expanded its cast. The Hulu series has added five new cast members, including fan-favorites from the Frasier revival and CSI: Vegas.

Per Deadline, all five actors have been cast as series regulars in the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They join Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who was previously announced as new slayer Nova, and returning star Sarah Michelle Gellar -- reprising her role as Buffy Summers.

Faly Rakotohavana (Unprisoned), Ava Jean (Law & Order: Svu), Sara Bock (Severance), Daniel di Tomasso and Frasier star Jack Cutmore-Scott are all joining the Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast. Rakotohavana will portray Hugo, a likable high-school nerd who is far more privileged than his peers, while Jean will play "chronic do-gooder" Larkin. Bock will be taking on the role of Gracie, the effective leader of a group of devout, church-going high-schoolers.

Hulu’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot pilot is filling out its cast alongside previously announced stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

The new series regulars include Faly Rakotohavana as Hugo, Ava Jean as Larkin, Sarah Bock as Gracie, Daniel Di Tomasso as Abe and Jack Cutmore-Scott as Mr. Burke.

Rakotohavana previously starred in Unprisoned and Secret Society of Second Born Royals, while Jean has appeared in A Week Away and Law & Order: Svu. Details for the project have been relatively under wraps, but it seems that since the pilot is moving full steam ahead, announcements will continue to be revealed.

As previously reported, Ryan Kiera Armstrong is set to topline the series as the new slayer, Nova.

It’s still unclear at this stage whether “Buffy” will be removed from the title and if we’ll get something like “Nova the Vampire Slayer.”

Dr. Crane's last show might really have been his last, even in spite of Frasier star Kelsey Grammer insisting the reboot series will find a new home for season 3.

After season 2 finished airing in November 2024, Paramount+ revealed that the Frasier revival series was officially canceled after two seasons in January 2025. However, Grammer wasn't taking the cancellation as the end of the road for his iconic character. He spoke in multiple interviews that he believed that the revival had been mishandled and under-promoted by Paramount+.

Grammer shared his intention to find a new home for a potential season 3 and seemed incredibly confident that he would be able to do so. By April, there still hadn't been a positive update about another streaming service or network saving the show, and now in July 2025, over six months after the show was originally canceled, the latest update might be the worst yet.

It’s been more than six months since Paramount+ rebooted the classic Cheers spinoff, Frasier. The revival premiered 30 years after the original Frasier debuted on NBC. While the show was a ratings juggernaut in its heyday,Frasier is currently slipping down on the streaming charts.

Per FlixPatrol, Frasier, which streams on Paramount+, currently holds the sixth spot in Paramount+’s Top 10 television shows as of July 4. It’s down a spot from number five earlier this week. The sitcom, which ran for 11 seasons from 1993 to 2004, has fallen behind Everybody Loves Raymond,which now holds the number five spot in the Top 10.

CBS’s mainstay procedural drama Criminal Minds holds the first place spot, followed by Showtime’s The Chi, which sits at number 3. NCIS and SpongeBob SquarePants hold the third and fourth place slots in the Top 10.

The sitcom also featured David Hyde Pierce as Frasier’s brother, Niles Crane, Jane Leeves as Daphne Moon, Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle, and the late John Mahoney as Frasier and Niles' dad, Martin Crane.Frasier follows Dr. Crane as he moves from Boston back home to Seattle, where he takes a job as a radio psychiatrist.

Unfortunately, it's the season for television show cancellations, and we're going to start hearing about a lot of them. The broadcast networks will be pruning their lineups to make way for the new fall schedules, a process that has already begun. But over in the streaming world, that process happens year round, not just in May. So far, there have been a number of cancellations in 2025.

It's not all bad news, though. Plenty of streaming shows have already been renewed for new seasons this year, like Severance, Running Point, The Studio, School Spirits, Paradise, and more.
