Action movie icon and Terminator star Linda Hamilton returns to the genre she’s renowned for with the upcoming sci-fi thriller, Osiris, which just got a hugely exciting release update. Instead of battling killer robots, Osiris will find Hamilton facing off with aliens after her and her crew of commandos are abducted.

Osiris, which is directed by William Kaufman from a script he co-wrote with Paul Reichelt stars Linda Hamilton alongside Max Martini, Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Lamonica Garrett (1883), and Linds Edwards (Homefront). The sci-fi action outing has now been picked up by Vertical for North American distribution (via Variety), meaning not only that US audiences will get to see Hamilton’s return to action, which is slated for release this summer, but also that we should be getting more updates, such as a trailer, pretty soon.

It follows a team of Special Forces commandos in the middle of an operation who are abducted by a mysterious spacecraft. When they wake up aboard the ship, they quickly discover they are being hunted by a merciless alien race.

William Kaufman (The Hit List) directs from a script he co-wrote with Paul Reichelt. Todd Masters handled the special effects.

“Nightingale,” a new action thriller, was filmed in Bulgaria and takes a dramatic look at the current war between Russia and Ukraine through a dangerous rescue mission lens. Lamonica Garrett plays a former special forces soldier who now works as a private military contractor trying to save his stolen adopted daughter.

The movie, directed by William Kaufman, who is known for making action movies, tries to show how complicated the human stories that come out of foreign conflicts are. Garrett’s character has to go through dangerous areas while trying to save people from Russian forces in a frantic rescue mission.

The movie has a great group cast, with Jason Patric as a CIA handler and Andrew Howard as a former CIA agent who worked in Ukraine. Daniel Bernhardt will play the bad guy, a Russian general in charge of the kidnapping.

“Nightingale,” an action thriller set against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, has pulled the curtain back on its ensemble, casting “Special Ops: Lioness” and “1883” star Lamonica Garrett to lead the picture. Jason Patric, Andrew Howard and Daniel Bernhardt are also starring.

The picture comes from producers Isaac Lewis and Andrew Lewis of Denton Film. Low-budget staple William Kaufman is directing the feature, which recently wrapped principal photography in Bulgaria. Kaufman co-write the script with Paul Reichelt, who also serves as executive producer.

Garrett is best known for his roles on “Sons of Anarchy” and “Designated Survivor.” He stars in “Nightingale” as an American Special Forces Operator and private military contractor, who must balance tending to civilian lives while rescuing his adoptive daughter, who is kidnapped and taken hostage by Russian forces in Ukraine. Patric plays a CIA handler with a shared history with Garrett’s character.

There are many action thrillers out there where the makers pay a lot of attention to making the film more gritty and hard-hitting than the competition and hence there is a noticeable shortage of attention when it comes to the pacing and the performances. William Kaufman doesn’t make that mistake in The Channel, which he co-wrote with Paul Reichelt. With realistic action sequences and decent performances, The Channel stands out as a well-executed action thriller. It has elements of the heist sub-genre, but the sincere attempt to make the story work is what actually kept me hooked.

Exclusive: Los Angeles-based production, finance and sales company Premiere Entertainment has picked up international rights to the military action thriller Warhorse One, starring actor Johnny Strong (Black Hawk Down).

Premiere will introduce the pic, which also stars newcomer Athena Durner and Raj Kala (Black Adam), to buyers this week in Cannes.

Written and directed by Strong and William Kaufman (Jarhead 3: The Siege), with Operator Films producing alongside Nicole Kaufman, the plot follows a gunned down Navy Seal Master Chief (Strong) who must guide a child (Durner) to safety through a gauntlet of hostile Taliban insurgents and survive the brutal Afghanistan wilderness.

We understand the pic is currently slated for a limited theatrical release beginning June 30 in North America via Well Go USA Entertainment.

There are a lot of post-apocalyptic films swirling around in the wind these days. Most of them have zombies, and the genre is honestly getting a bit tired.

That being said, I'm genuinely excited about the upcoming release of Daylight's End. I've had this one on my radar ever since I watched the trailer a while back.

The film is a post-apocalyptic action horror film starring Johnny Strong and Lance Henriksen. Directored by William Kaufman and written by Chad Law.

This one promises the big guns and action, and that's what I dig about this offering -- I like things that go boom! Plus Lance Hendriksen and the entire team involved in this movie makes it one you simply don't want to miss.

Daylight's End will release in limited theaters and on VOD on Friday, August 26th. Check out the synopsis and Exclusive Trailer Premiere below.

Written by Chad Law and directed by William Kaufman (Sinners and Saints), Daylight's End is a new post-apocalyptic actioner that evokes classics like The Omega Man and Assault on Precinct 13 as well as newer fare like The Colony.

The flick stars Johnny Strong, Lance Henriksen and Louis Mandylor among others and hits theatres and on-demand August 26, 2016. This looks like one to add to your watch list, folks.

Daylight's End, from Throttle Films, is a post-apocalyptic thriller. This film stars several mixed martial artists, including the infamous Anderson Silva, along with Johnny Strong and Krzysztof Soszynski. This title is slated for release in 2014 and a preview for the film is here. The story involves an isolated drifter, who is trying to survive a global epidemic. Everybody still loves Cuba Gooding Jr., right? The man hasn’t been in a theatrical film in some time, yet he still keeps on pumping out direct-to-dvd stuff like One in the Chamber. He co-stars in William Kaufman’s film alongside Dolph Lundgren, who has been making a respectable comeback in Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables films.

One in the Chamber is a walk in the park for both men, but a sluggish one for the viewers as it contains every plot beat from a dozen other recycled assassin movies that deal with double-crossing and finding innocence in such nasty line of work. It’s a passable film though and that is all you can ask for whenever stars like these align.

Ray Carver (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a killer. He works for whoever pays him the most and the only regret he ever had was killing a man in front of his daughter.

Director William Kaufman's Sinners And Saints was one of the best action films, and one of my personal favourites, in 2011. It was released in DVD format in a few overseas markets (including Australia, where I saw it) before securing a wide release (in DVD and Blu-ray) in its home country America earlier this month.
