Chance Dennis (Tim Reid) is a criminalogy professor at Georgetown. His wife Micki Dennis (Daphne Reid) works for the State Department. Somehow, this DC couple keeps falling into mystery investigations week after week. Lieutenant Sam Akers (John Karlen) is their friend on the DC police.

For me, Tim Reid will always be Venus Flytrap. I would see him from time to time and he's still Venus Flytrap. This show seems to have been a family affair for him. Sadly, he could only manage 13 episodes out of it. It is best to leave reasonable out of this. It is the standard network TV procedural with some light touches although I really wish that there is a more natural way for him to get into all these investigations. Maybe they could be his class assignments.
