Reviewers say 'FBI' is lauded for its engaging crime drama, talented ensemble cast, and realistic portrayal of law enforcement. The show's diversity and strong performances by Missy Peregrym and Zeeko Zaki are highlighted. However, criticisms include unrealistic plotlines, repetitive episode structures, and exaggerated character behaviors, especially Jubal's shouting. Some note inaccuracies in FBI procedures. Despite these flaws, many find the show entertaining and compelling due to its storylines and character dynamics.

Could Jeremy not shout everything he says?!?! Seriously it is getting to be annoying! Thank you
In its prime I appreciated how it shifted focus from the case at hand per se to the personal implications with the main cast, but I really can't get past how formulaic it has become in time. We have the 1 minute cold open with people chatting idly and then becoming the receiving end or the witnesses of a crime, someone cries "heeeelp! Oh my God please someone help me!", cut to the title card on black, then we get a slice of life of one of the main cast, with some deep problem with friends/family/partner etc., they receive the call, briefing at the bureau, then at the scene, some red herrings, people called out from the other side of the road start running away and of course they are not the culprit, cut to Maggie frowning and Omar mugging with a pouty face, then one of the cast has to do something morally questionable to crack the case, then showdown. The episode ends with the episode protagonist facing the moral consequences of their action, then sitting on their chair staring at the distance with the somber ending music, then cut to credits on a black screen.
The whole thing seriously makes me wonder what's the point of screenwriting and if they film some scenes (like the ending ones with the contemplating protagonist) in bulk and then edit them for each single episode.
This is getting really boring.

I was ready to write this show off after 2 episodes, but I glad I didn't. Someone must have heard all of the negative comments (mostly between me and my wife) around Sela Ward's and Jeremy Sisto's characters and how everything they did and said was WAY over the top. Starting in episode 3 they dialed their acting way back and the dialogue became more realistic and their actions more convincing.
I originally started watching this show because of Missy Peregrym (loved her in Reaper and Rookie Blue) and I really like the chemistry between agents Bell and Zidan, but after the firsts 2 episodes I didn't think it would last 1/2 a season. Now I really hope it has a long run.

Fairly formulaic. If someone can advise Sisko that he doesn't need to yell when everybody is on Bluetooth it might help.
I love this show but why does Jeremy Sisto's character need to shout like a demented person in every scene? It seems so unnecessary.

- AnecdotesDick Wolf had been pitching a series focusing on the FBI to NBC for ages hoping to spin it off from La loi & l'ordre - Crimes sexuels (1999). However, NBC did not go through with the idea, so CBS quickly snapped up Wolf's idea and it became his second series not to air on NBC. The first being New York Undercover which aired on Fox
- GaffesA number of times in the series the agents assume someone is their suspect because they have the same caliber gun as the murder weapon, and its almost always a 9mm. Yet the 9mm is by far the most common handgun caliber in the world, so arresting someone based only on the fact that they own a 9mm is something that would not actually happen, it is the weakest kind of circumstantial evidence.
