AMC Networks’ Shudder has announced the titles that will be available on the streaming service next month. The Shudder August 2025 slate includes horror, thriller, and supernatural titles.

The August schedule includes the films Clown in a Cornfield and The Twin, the series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, and more.

Shudder’s expanding library of films, TV series, and original content is available on most streaming devices in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Logan Donovan (Colony) appears as Nicholas, who is immersed in grief after losing his son. Nicholas and his wife Charlie (Aleksa Palladino of The Irishman) are estranged, and he is under the care of a sympathetic psychiatrist named Dr. Beaumont.

When his wife leaves, Nicholas is alone in his home, and starts to hear voices and suffer from nightmares. Things come to a head when he encounters a figure that looks disturbingly like him. Writer/Director J.C. Doler’s directorial debut, the Irish folklore horror film The Twin, has been picked up by Vertical for North American release next month.

The Twin releases on July 1, 2025.

The horror movie stars Logan Donovan, Robert Longstreet, and Aleksa Palladino.

The film’s synopsis: “After the tragic loss of his son, Nicholas (Donovan) struggles with his grief and a strained relationship with his wife Charlie (Palladino). Under the watch of psychiatrist Dr. Beaumont (Longstreet), Nicholas begins experiencing terrifying visions of a shadowy figure that looks like himself. The film is called The Fetch, marking the feature directorial debut of indie genre filmmaker J.C. Doler, telling an eerie tale of grief & demons. Following the death of his only son, a grieving father is haunted by a terrifying demon known in Irish folklore as the Fetch. A fetch is a supernatural double or an apparition of a living person. The sighting of a fetch is regarded as an omen, usually for impending death... The indie film stars Robert Longstreet, Aleksa Palladino, Logan Donovan, Shannon Cochran, & Tripp Toupal. Well damn this looks actually quite scary and especially creepy with all the weird gross hands popping out of everywhere. Plus evil doppelgangers appearing randomly.

In Irish folklore and literature dating back to the 1500s, writers from the island nation have written about mythical beings known as “Fetches” that haunt people whose days are numbered. According to legend, Fetches take on the physical form of the humans they visit — and if your own creepy doppelganger visits you in the evening, it means your death is imminent. But if they visit you in the morning, you can prepare yourself for a long life ahead of you.

That mythology is set to come to life in “The Fetch,” a new horror movie debuting at the Austin Film Festival that promises to fuse Irish folklore with modern day scares. According to an official synopsis, the film follows a grieving father who finds himself haunted by the Fetch as he mourns the death of his only son.

“The Fetch” marks the feature directorial debut of J.C. Doler, who has previously released six short films.

Oscar race contenders Justin Kurzel’s The Order, Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist and Tim Fehlbaum’s September 5 have joined the lineup for the Austin Film Festival, which has unveiled the full screening lineup for its 31st edition.

The Order, the neo-Nazi crime thriller starring Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult, will be a Centerpiece Film presentation, with writer Zach Baylin and star Tye Sheridan attending. And the Oct. 24 to 31 festival will open with Malcolm Washington’s The Piano Lesson, which stars Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington and Danielle Deadwyler. Virgil Williams, who co-wrote the Netflix stage-to-screen adaptation produced by Denzel Washington, will attend.

Also headed to Austin is Maria, Pablo Larrain’s Maria Callas biopic for Netflix that stars Angelina Jolie. This year’s world premieres include the paranoia-thriller Crossword, co-written, directed and also starring Michael Vlamis in his directorial debut; the folk-horror pic The Fetch, starring Robert Longstreet...
