If you were to run into Hollywood star Linda Hamilton, you would probably praise her for her work in the Terminator series. Her character, Sarah Connor, has become synonymous with the action genre, and although her career took different turns, it's virtually impossible not to see her as the mother who would do everything to save her son. However, per her latest statements, the actor simply prefers a low profile and doesn't care for the "icon" label. She's part of a group of Hollywood actors who prefer to "disappear" rather than stay in the limelight.

As reported by People, Hamilton had a bit of an awkward experience while shooting her latest movie, Osiris. The film, written and directed by William Kaufman, sees Hamilton co-starring with Max Martini and Brianna Hildebrand, and it follows a group of Special Forces operatives who are abducted by aliens in the middle of a mission.

Linda Hamilton does not like to be called a legend. She may have had, for a while, one of the most famous faces in the world, as the human centre of the Terminator films, but she’s also a human being and an actor who has continued to work in lots of different roles. Her professional ambitions are not limited to action – even if she has now found herself playing a hard-bitten survivor who leads a squad of soldiers against a powerful alien enemy in William Kaufman’s Osiris.

She came on board with the film at the last minute after another actor had to step aside for medical reasons, so had only a short time to prepare, but that’s the kind of challenge she enjoys, as she explained to me.

There is extreme violence right from the outset in William Kaufman’s Osiris. That might sound par for the course these days, but Kaufman really goes for it. After a brief prologue in which we witness archive footage of an old rocket launch, he plunges us into the middle of a gunfight which goes on for a good 15 minutes before an unexpected event which sees things get quieter but, all told, probably worse. The action choreography is strong. The assailants come in waves. The sound is loud and the experience immersive, but it does begin to feel like a computer game. There might be a reason for that.

Some time after the battle, the soldiers wake up, five of them, lined up in an industrial-looking space in a familiar arrangement, then abruptly collapse as the hypersleep gel in which they have been stored melts away. At first they theorise that they’re.

From vaporizing monuments in the West to making kids win basketball games in Kasauli, aliens have done it all. But in William Kaufman’s 2025 sci-fi ride Osiris, this unruly bunch comes with a twist of originality, the kind I didn’t realize I’d missed. Kaufman as a filmmaker has been known for his B-grade action thrillers, and he brings that same edge to this alien tale, making it much more fun than it should be. The film looks slick, the UFO’s got an attitude, the aliens are pretty perfectly gross, and there are a few likeable soldiers. What’s not to like?

Bethesda is described as a neo-Western thriller set in desolate West Texas in the early ’90s. The story centers on a dying ex-Texas Ranger with a violent past, and the young woman he rescues from a life of drugs and forced prostitution. After killing the brother of a border-town crime lord, the two broken strangers go into hiding from the pseudo-philosophical assassin hired to kill them. While on the run, they find redemption within each other in this dark and violent land where the line between good and evil is blurred, where the only rule is that of survival. Executive producer is Paul Reichelt of Appalachian Film. A while back, sci-fi action movie called Osiris managed to fly under the radar all the way through production – an impressive feat, given that it happens to star Max Martini (Pacific Rim), Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Lamonica Garrett (1883), and Linda Hamilton (The Terminator). Now, it has been revealed that Osiris will be receiving a limited theatrical release on July 25th, and will also be getting a digital and VOD release on that date. The picture comes from producers Isaac Lewis and Andrew Lewis of Denton Film. Low-budget staple William Kaufman is directing the feature, which recently wrapped principal photography in Bulgaria. Kaufman co-write the script with Paul Reichelt, who also serves as executive producer.

Garrett is best known for his roles on “Sons of Anarchy” and “Designated Survivor.” He stars in “Nightingale” as an American Special Forces Operator and private military contractor, who must balance tending to civilian lives while rescuing his adoptive daughter, who is kidnapped and taken hostage by Russian forces in Ukraine. There are many action thrillers out there where the makers pay a lot of attention to making the film more gritty and hard-hitting than the competition and hence there is a noticeable shortage of attention when it comes to the pacing and the performances. With realistic action sequences and decent performances, The Channel stands out as a well-executed action thriller. It has elements of the heist sub-genre, but the sincere attempt to make the story work is what actually kept me hooked.

“When Sean’s daughter goes missing on the Mexican border, he teams up with his former Marine partner (Cam Gigandet) to face off against the cartel who kidnapped her,” the official synopsis for Shrapnel reads. And it is certainly a synopsis that suggests Shrapnel will strip away the fat and serve up all manner of action movie delights.

The footage finds Patric’s character Sean Beckwith turning to his brother in arms, Cam Gigandet’s Max Vohden, for advice after his daughter is kidnapped.

Thrilling police chases, explosive shootouts, compelling characters, and riveting storylines are all elements that culminate into one of the most exhilarating and high octane sub-genres and movies out there, the bank heist movie. There are few genres that give audiences that 'rush' more than the heist genre. From legendary movies like Heat, the Ocean's quadrilogy, Den of Thieves, and more recently Michael Bay's Ambulance, this phenomenal subgenre is certainly a packed one, and holds some of the best movies and experiences in cinematic history.

Adding to the large roster of bank heist movies, is veteran action director William Kaufman's latest feature, The Channel. The Channel boasts everything that we love about the bank heist movie subgenre. Filled with visceral gun fights and shootouts and thrilling police chases, The Channel is a ton of fun. However, although marketed as a bank heist movie, isn't really about the heist.

Known for his explosive, low-budget action movies like One in the Chamber, The Hit List and Saints and Sinners just to name a few, action director William Kaufman recently sat down with MovieWeb to discuss his upcoming highly anticipated action flick The Channel. Joining Kaufman was one of the film's leads, Max Martini, who many may recognize from films like Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, and Prime Video's Tender Bar.

Kaufman, despite his budget, has always delivered on the action, and The Channel is no different. However, what sets The Channel aside from Kaufman's previous work is that the film thrives in its characters. Particularly the brotherly relationship between the two main characters in a compelling and complex story of survival. The action doesn't disappoint and the performances from both Clayne Crawford and Max Martini are astounding.

Taking place at the twilight of the United States' 20-year war in Afghanistan, Warhorse One is a military epic that depicts what becomes of the American citizens left behind. Screen Rant presents an exclusive clip from the new movie, which gives audiences a good look at its protagonist, before it arrives in select theaters on June 30. Star Johnny Strong plays Navy Seal Master Chief Richard Mirko, but he also co-wrote the screenplay and directed the project alongside William Kaufman.

Warhorse One is centered on a civilian rescue attempt in the wake of the 2021 withdrawal of the United States military from Afghanistan. When a Seal team helicopter is downed, Richard Mirko ends up the sole survivor and must protect his charge, Zoe Walters (played by newcomer Athena Durner), from insurgents and environmental dangers alike. What emerges is a war drama that never loses sight of its humane focus, as seen in the clip below.

Exclusive: Los Angeles-based production, finance and sales company Premiere Entertainment has picked up international rights to the military action thriller Warhorse One, starring actor Johnny Strong (Black Hawk Down).

Premiere will introduce the pic, which also stars newcomer Athena Durner and Raj Kala (Black Adam), to buyers this week in Cannes.

Written and directed by Strong and William Kaufman (Jarhead 3: The Siege), with Operator Films producing alongside Nicole Kaufman, the plot follows a gunned down Navy Seal Master Chief (Strong) who must guide a child (Durner) to safety through a gauntlet of hostile Taliban insurgents and survive the brutal Afghanistan wilderness.

We understand the pic is currently slated for a limited theatrical release beginning June 30 in North America via Well Go USA Entertainment.

Exclusive: Fivel Stewart (The Recruit) has signed on to star opposite Acoryé White in Bellmount, an action thriller that White will also direct, in his second outing behind the camera, from his own script.

The film heading into production later this year follows Chase and Hayley, a young couple living a simple lifestyle in a remote cabin, who encounter a group of sadistic robbers after a money heist goes awry. As the two worlds collide, everyone must fight for their lives to survive the night.

The project will see a former Marine and his old war buddy face off against the Mexican cartel behind the disappearance of his daughter.

Currently in production in the U.S., director is William Kaufman (The Hit List) and script comes from Chad Law and Johnny Walters.

Producers are Elias Axume of Premiere Entertainment and Al Bravo of Al Bravo Films. BondIt Media Capital and Buffalo 8 are also part of the production team. Premiere will handle international sales.

After their bank heist goes wrong, a desperate criminal (Crawford), his out-of-control brother (Martini) and their motley crew of ex-marines must escape New Orleans and the determined FBI agent (Kai-Kazim) who pursues them.

William Kaufman (The Hit List) will direct the film from a script he wrote, from a story by Paul Reichelt. Andrew Lewis and Isaac Lewis are producing under their Denton Film banner, with Reichelt serving as executive producer through Appalachian Films. Neely Eisenstein is casting.

Production will last for several months in New Orleans.

There are a lot of post-apocalyptic films swirling around in the wind these days. Most of them have zombies, and the genre is honestly getting a bit tired.

That being said, I'm genuinely excited about the upcoming release of Daylight's End. I've had this one on my radar ever since I watched the trailer a while back.

The film is a post-apocalyptic action horror film starring Johnny Strong and Lance Henriksen. Directored by William Kaufman and written by Chad Law.

This one promises the big guns and action, and that's what I dig about this offering -- I like things that go boom! Plus Lance Hendriksen and the entire team involved in this movie makes it one you simply don't want to miss.
