Another crime drama episode where one of the main characters is being investigated at the risk of his career and possibly prison. Yuck.
Is there any crime show episode on television where one of the investigators actually stands down when they are personally involved, a conflict of interest? Tony's aversion to following rules in this case is beyond stupid, even for Tony.
Gibbs should have a numbered rule to the effect that if DiNozzo Sr. Is involved, he shouldn't be let out of their sights.
The crime mystery is a bit twisty as is the Sr vs Jr misunderstanding, but the pace is still slow....

I agree a lot with Scubawoman and another review that got a lot of negative votes. I'm disappointed in Bishop. What rule is it not to get personally involved? Gibbs knew it and let her continue. I'm disappointed in him too. But then this show never really takes that rule seriously. Every major character has been guilty of that one.
But all the pre-capture stuff aside, both Gibbs and Bishop's IQ's dropped below a snail's IQ when on the ship. Parsa should have been securely manacled. Gibbs shouldn't have left her alone, at least not unless securely bound. And Bishop was just as bad. And she was insecure.
Then she gets praised by practically everyone???
Bad writing.

I think it's nice that a crime drama that can get very serious at times sprinkles in some humorous episodes sometimes.
You know you are in for some fun when Fornell and Diane show up at the same time. True, some of it is cliche, maybe even a little overused, but I got some laughs and it's hard to make me laugh.
I can't say I think much of Melinda McGraw's acting in any of her appearances on this show, but I'm pretty sure what we get is the intent of the director(s).
It occurs to me as interesting that Emily (the daughter) and Emily W (Bishop) both add some nice touches to the humor. I love Bishop's reactions to the soap opera of Fornell and Diane. Emily's "suffering daughter" angle is cute and her confusion later is even better.
You almost don't even care about the outcome of the criminal investigation. You know it will get solved. And there is even a little twist, even one that deepens the suspense.
Bishop impresses again, but so does Emily.
There is a good closing scene.
