A Clockwork Shining: Kubrick's Odyssey 3

If you thought the movie Room 237 was drawing at straws this movie is next level. I'm not even sure how this movie has the rating it does. MK Ultra conspiracy? What a stretch the level of madness to actually be able to produce, fund and create this movie blows my mind. Thank God I only spent $2.99 on this. I will say it was an interesting watch. There is one woman in this movie, who clearly had a very traumatic life and I'd be more intrigued to understand her tail than this movie. She's way more intelligent than her 18 minutes of screen time than this whole movie has collectively. There are some interesting ideas and aspects of it, but it is so off the wall and complete nonsense. I will say if it even has 10% of truth that is completely alarming about our government and just the world in general. Also this "documentary" has collectively five different opinions who are all in my opinion crackpots. Nobody is an expert in their field or has any expertise in pretty much anything. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and saying they are definitely passionate and that makes it more entertaining. If you wanna watch a conspiracy documentary on Stanley then check out any other one besides this one. Room 237 as off-the-wall as it is at least is palatable to digest.

Jay Weidner has an impressive background in alchemy revelations and study of Stanley Kubrick's work in films. He has produced earlier films on Kubrick and having worked in several areas of Hollywood's film industry, possesses extensive "inside" knowledge. A Clockwork Shining is well and authentically researched and reveals genuine - although admittedly not "establishment" accepted - truths.

Ryder Lee demonstrated his directorial talent in his first excellent film with Weidner: JFK-X. This film further attests tp Mr. Lee's talent.

The current film is excellent. While perhaps uncomfortably revelatory, it is important to watch.

This was awful on an "Ancient Aliens" level ... lots of strawman arguments, lots of weak connections, lots of things that make no sense. The filmmakers say that Kubrick made the Shining his own (upsetting Stephen King) ... that's TRUE and documented. But then the narrator makes a huge deal about how Kubrick named the hotel The Overlook, which is a veiled reference to a military base of a similar name. The film lost all credibility at this point ... Kubrick didn't name the hotel, King did.

They also make a big deal about "our people in Denver" secretly meaning the CIA. I think it would be more reasonable that there would be a first round screening interview (by phone?) before asking an applicant to drive 6 hours round trip.

The filmmakers interview a retired FBI officer... in the background, right by his head, is a door with the knob broken off. Low budget? Lack of attention to detail? A secret message that this film is busted and impossible to get a handle on?

This was ridiculous and uninteresting from start to finish. I forced myself to watch it all because I paid $2.99 to watch it.

On a positive note, It did make me want to reread Catcher in the Rye. TBH I never noticed that was the book Wendy was reading at the beginning.
