Taylor Swift and Joe Rogan are the Spotify MVPs this year: The service has announced its annual year-end Spotify Wrapped Lists of top streaming artists and podcasts.

Swift, of course, ranked No. 1 as the year’s most-streamed artist globally on Spotify, her second consecutive year to take the honor. Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department was the most-streamed album of the year on Spotify. Coming in at No. 2 was The Weeknd.

It’s time to welcome the first big gift of the holiday season with the arrival of Spotify Wrapped 2024. The annual recap, looking back at the most-listened artists, albums, and genres for individuals and global Spotify users as a whole, has officially arrived.

As with previous years, Spotify has curated a distinct aesthetic to mark the 2024 rollout, featuring eye-catching visuals and a number of new features. They’ve also taken the celebration out of the app and into the world; people in West Hollywood can dance down to a pop-up celebrating the Pink Pony Club, while those in New York might be able to spot a Tinashe billboard celebrating the borough that streamed her hit “Nasty” more than any other.

In a year dominated by Brat – our Top Album of 2024, no less — Spotify also went out of its way to shoutout the listeners who had Charli Xcx in their playlists...

The year was undoubtedly a great one for pop music — specifically, women in the genre! On Wednesday, Spotify announced its end-of-year Spotify Wrapped data, including its ranking of most-streamed albums globally, which saw women in the Top Eight slots for 2024.

Topping the list was Taylor Swift with her album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. Swift made the Top 10 twice more: 2023’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) reached Number Six and 2019’s Lover came in at Number Eight.

Taylor Swift was the most streamed artist globally on Spotify in 2024, while Joe Rogan and Alex Cooper topped the platform’s podcast charts.

This is the fifth consecutive year The Joe Rogan Experience has been the top podcast on Spotify and comes after he interviewed former President Donald Trump on his show leading up to the election. Cooper, who hosts Call Her Daddy, interviewed Vice President Kamala Harris on her show and took the second place slot for the second year in a row.

Notably, the two podcasts still topped the list after Spotify ceded exclusivity of both titles. The top five podcasts globally also included Huberman Lab and This Past Weekend w/Theo Von in the third and fourth spots and The Diary of A CEO with Steven Bartlett, a British video podcast, in the fifth spot.
