Get Fast

I recently watched Get Fast (2024) and overall, it's a decent action film. The story is simple but has enough moments to keep you engaged. What I really liked was the performance of the actor who played the drug addict. His acting felt raw and very realistic, probably the best part of the movie for me.

The action scenes were okay, nothing too new or spectacular, but still enjoyable if you're an action fan. The direction was average and the storyline could have been more original. Still, it never felt boring and managed to keep my attention till the end.

Not the best action film of the year, but definitely watchable. Love from India.

Loved this movie. It was full of action all the way through.

It appealed to me personally as it was filmed locally and I could identify with some of the locations and one of my cars was used in the opening sequence.

It has nonstop gun action and the semi-truck battle was pretty intense.

Runs a bit like a video game but that's okay makes for more action.

Lou Diamond Phillips does a good job.

Overall a fun movie.

Don't think it's a Oscar award winner but enjoy it for the action movie that it is. Sit back and be prepared to be properly entertained. I was and am sure that you will be too.

This film tries very hard to be stylish and charming, in the manner of the first Smokin' Aces film. And it fails on all fronts.

Lou Diamond Phillips plays it as well as anyone can, though he's almost unrecognisable for the most part. The rest are such over-acted caricatures that they're just two-dimensional and annoying. Screaming and bulging eyes don't turn this into something funny or clever.

The action is actually boring for the most part. The film seems to think it needs an action scene every five minutes to keep you watching - and it's partially correct. The plot is so dull and all over the place that it's hard to follow. Or rather, it's hard to care enough to bother following it.

There's some guy, who has stolen some money or something. And at least two other groups of people want to get it from him, for reasons that just blurred past me. It's extremely hard to care about any of the characters when none of them are real in any way.

CGI largely ruins the stunts. The undoubtedly-skilled stunt performers working on this lose credibility when you realise how much of everything is greenscreen. The main character can't even ride a motorbike along a straight road without having to phone it in.

I made it to the end, though I wanted to give up several times. With bullet wounds proving inconsequential most of the time, the stakes were generally nothing. When people did actually die, it was hard to believe they actually did, when they'd shrugged off worse earlier on. Why did any of this happen? Why would anyone care? Did anyone win in the end? I don't know and I watched it all.

I obviously looked at the IMDB rating prior to watching this. My buddy & I were bored, and said.. Why not? Some reviews say it's better than what you think.

Well guess what. This movie is awful. DO NOT WATCH IT. It's not entertaining nor action packed. It is plain silly.

Camera work is terrible. Acting work is terrible. Not even a good movie to kill time.

This is the first review I have ever written on a movie. I have done it out of good faith to those who may think, yeah let's give this movie a chance. I am also writing this in the movie theatre while it's running.

PS: Popcorn wasn't that good either, Thought I'd mention this too because why not. Lol.

The Thief is back. James Clayton once again directs and stars as the thief who along with his partner stole some cash from a ruthless drug lord called Nushi.

She does not like people stealing from her. She has in her pocket goons, corrupt cops and a hitman called the Cowboy (Lou Diamond Phillips.) They also have the Thief's partner.

So the Thief has to come to the rescue in an ice cream van with a nervous young man in tow who keeps mentioning jelly babies when he is nervous.

Get Fast is a direct to streaming B movie. It has a well worn plot, good production values but many of the characters are caricatures you have seen countless times before.
