The official Twitter for the 20th anniversary project for Toei Animation's long-running Precure anime franchise announced today that a sequel novel to its 10th installment, Dokidoki! Precure , is set to publish from Kodansha's Kodansha Character Bunko imprint in 2024. Following the ninth installment Smile Precure! , Dokidoki! Precure aired in Japan for 49 episodes from February 2013 to January 2014. Details are unknown at this time, but the post introduces it "a completely new novel about what happens after the TV series." Ryota Yamaguchi, who was in charge of series composition for the original TV series, serves as the writer, and original character designer Akira Takahashi provides illustrations. The account has posted a newly-drawn illustration by Takahashi. In the visual, Regina is wearing the uniform of Oogai First Junior High School. Eiga Precure All Stars F celebrates the 20th anniversary of the magical girl anime series, with the movie having sold 978,000 tickets since in its 25th day of release in theaters. As revealed by parent company Toei on Monday, Oct. 9, this translates to a current Japanese box office haul of 1.19 billion yen, or around US$8 million. This puts it ahead of 2018's Hugtto! Precure Futari wa Precure All Stars Memories -- which made $7.72 million in total -- making All Stars F the highest-grossing movie in the series to date. The opening weekend box office haul was 437,456,060 yen (~$2.9 million), which was also a new opening height for the franchise.
