Jurassic Triangle

I have always thought that no matter how bad a movie is there are still some redeeming qualities to it. Take the Sharknado movies. They were kitschy fun with sharks being thrown across the globe in tornados. If you could suspend disbelief even for a few minutes there was much to enjoy in the sheer and utter badness of the movies. Consider the other shark movies from years ago. Three-headed sharks, five-headed sharks, atomic sharks, all quite fun in their own way.

This movie falls into the same kind of category as it is horribly acted, poorly written, bad CGI, and poorly filmed. That makes it a winner in this genre. I found myself rooting for the dinosaurs to eat the actors, which gave it a.extra bit of fun.

Make some popcorn, grab a pop, sit back, and enjoy the modern day equivalent of an Ed Wood movie.

Another masterpiece that does not deserve grade 1, but ZERO!! This film has, every 5 minutes, a huge mistake: village that appears in the images, different cars, people from the film production, etc. It's a complete disaster!

Not to mention that the idea is nice, but the film's narrative lacks a beginning and an end! My advice: don't waste your time with something like this!

Everything is "artificial", starting with the CGI and ending with the fire at the muzzle of the machine guns. Everything is an absolute fake!

If the film had been made by some high school children, it would certainly have been more interesting!

Right, well within the first minute and a half of the movie, you are introduced to the lousy CGI animated dinosaurs in form of flying Pterodactylus. They looked ridiculously bad. And then there was the sound that they made, which sounded like the engine of a TIE fighter from "Star Wars". Right, not even two minutes into the ordeal, and I was ready to call it quits. Sure, I harbored zero expectations to this movie when I opted to sit down and watch it. Why? Well, given the movie's title, and the fact that 90% of all dinosaur-based movies are questionable at best.

Yet, I opted to endure and stick with it, giving writer Harry Boxley and director Victor De Almeida the benefit of the doubt. Sure, I had never heard about the movie prior to sitting down and watching it, so I didn't know what I was in for here, nor what to expect, really.

The storyline is, in fact, every bit as dubious and ridiculous as you would expect from a dinosaur-themed movie of this caliber. You're not in for anything grand, much less in for anything interesting or even entertaining. It was a boring narrative, and the movie was a massive swing and a miss from writer Harry Boxley.

Unfortunately I have been sitting through enough low budget and questionable movies to be familiar with actresses Chrissie Wunna and Danielle Scott on the cast list here. The acting performances were as you would expect for a movie such as this, so you're not exactly in for a stellar evening of Shakespearian theater.

The CGI in the movie is pretty atrocious. It looks rather terrible and doesn't come off as being realistic, nor does it even have the illusion of the poorly rendered CGI dinosaurs were in the same scenes as the actors and actresses that were supposed to be acting against these horrible CGI abominations. I wonder if the dinosaurs became extinct because their CGI rendered became obsolete.

And why was there a large spider in the cave? It served absolutely no purpose, except fot a chance to show off more questionable CGI. Not to mention the huge crab-like humanoid creature, what was that about?

The helicopter flight scenes were equally horrible to look at, as they were clearly filmed inside a small room. YOu don't ever get a shot of an actor or actress with nothing but a grey window. So yeah, that is definitely an indicator of how low budget the movie was. Wait, there was a scene where you see the helicopter cockpit from the side, but it is so painfully obvious that it is just a prop.

At least some of the practical effects, such as some of the injuries, looked fair enough.

I am amazed at how movies such as this get to see the light in 2024. Doesn't anyone raise a concern with what they are seeing in post-production? Or is the allure of the almighty dollar really that blinding?

My rating of "Jurassic Triangle" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.

I don't usually review movies. As a matter of fact this is my first review of a movie ever. But the horrible acting and everything in between is just unbearable. In 2024 people are still making movies like this?

The CGI was really bad. The acting or the script (if any was used at all) was just poor written.

What did I just watch? I tried to watch this movie (if you can call it that) but I felt I wasted my good 1 hour trying to understand what was happening. I think the directors and the actors are in a wrong line of work. They really should just find different careers.

The dinosaurs as poorly represented by bad CGI were even a better actors than humans. Hence I was kind enough to give it two stars. Don't get me started on the helicopters!

Taking a special trip together, a group of friends on a plane ride over the Bermuda Triangle manage to crashland on a deserted island which they soon find is filled with dinosaurs and other strange prehistoric creatures forcing them to find a way to get off the island alive before succumbing to the creatures.

There was quite a lot to like with this one. Among the better features here is the solid and workably cheesy setup that provides this with a rather fun starting point for this kind of film. As the initial purpose of the trip being everyone to undertake a team-building exercise and getting stranded in the storm that forces them onto the strange island is a fine start that handles a couple of key elements. The trip there allows the intervening banter to get a handle on the group and who they are so that we're a bit familiar with their past, the purposes for the trip, and their personalities so that the later scenes when they're being chased have a bit of suspense to them. The subsequent scenes on the island following the crash make for a fun time as their attempt to deal with the chaos and confusion of the situation normally without having to deal with the creatures that slowly confirm their theory about the island being lost to time that serves everything rather nicely here. That forms the basis for a slew of fun, cheesy creature confrontations within here. As the first encounter with the soldiers shows the creatures in full sight and gives an idea of the kind of cheesy effects and confrontations that take place here, which carries over into the rest of the encounters featured here. Starting with insectoid creatures and mutated spider-like beings, the stalking scenes become quite fun once the large dinosaurs become involved as the scenes with the raptor chasing one of the members through the forest, a great gun battle with one of the creatures that generates some solid cheesy gore scenes, and the rather silly finale that features some fun encounters with the creatures and some genuinely surprising outcomes for each of the remaining survivors that adds a different touch to this one, and when combined with the expectedly goofy effects come together for a lot to like here. This one doesn't have much but a few slight problems are holding it back. The main factor against this one is the rather confusing nature of what the renegade military team hopes to accomplish by adding them into the film as late as it does. They're introduced excessively late into the running time and don't have any purpose for their aggressive behavior since they're not properly introduced as the cold open implies those team members are the last remaining survivors. That makes this team showing up at this point very confusing overall. On top of that, the usual amount of somewhat obvious and goofy CGI for the creatures and other general effects work featured throughout here as they come with the usual assortment of drawbacks including changing dimensions, unnatural sizes, or unnatural movements that continually give themselves away. These are all expected and shouldn't hold this back but still slightly lower this one.
