With THE BACKROOMS, a series of short videos designed to disorient and terrify, Kane Parsons has created a nightmare world of utter desolation and anxiety. It's a bizarre realm where nothing complies with logic or the common, sane view of reality.
Imagine waking up in a place that's just a labyrinth of unfathomable, unending dread. A place that's not so much a location as it is a self-constructed trap where humans attempt to make sense of its continuous hallways, rooms, and passages. Where something lurks. Something that only computes in our darkest dreams.
Parsons has taken horror into a whole new direction, by aiming straight for our basest fears: isolation, abandonment, eternal dullness, flatness, and sudden jolts of inescapable terror. Ultimately, as with all great horror efforts, THE BACKROOMS taps directly into our fear of the unknown, as well as our fear of death. It holds us in its grip, and won't let us go until we face it...

It actually appears to be YouTube videos of this yellow rooms footages alternated to scientific videos with a random context. Actually, whoever says that the show doesnt makes any sense, missed the lore and the chronological order of this tv show, and if we find the connection (a lot of YouTube videos have talked about that)we can arrive to the conclusion that The backrooms tv show by Kane Parsons its the best found footage show of all time. Its even more statically cruel and violent than cannibal Holocaust, because in CH the violence is graphical meanwhile in the backrooms the static location actually assoults our mind to create a persistent state of anxiety, and going on with the show can lead to loose the sanity. Slow, creepy, unnerving, how the exploration of the backrooms was described in that 4chan post,mr parsons made a 3d version that can be a competitor of all the horror movies of all time and its actually more than most of them.
The pure consistency is one of the things that places this series above the rest. The analog style footage serves only to strengthen the intrigue of the series, and remains present throughout. Mystery is built gradually, so that the series still has a lot of unexplored depths while still showcasing a lot of interesting details.
All of the 3d environments look tangible and real, and on top of that a lot of the coloring in some shots especially looks great.
Also, there is some plot structure, enough for there to be a narrative to follow while still not giving away too many details. The result is a sort of freeform narrative, although it is much more structured than the typical layered analog horror franchise, EG Local 58 or The Mandela Catalogue.
A lot of the reasons this has become so popular have to do with how high quality it is. The analog aesthetic, the crisp sound design, the intuitive and consistent narrative, and the top notch editing (beginning sequence of Missing Persons, the entirety of Report) all combine to create this internally consistent and fascinating parallel world, that delivers while still leaving way for possibilities ahead.
As a result, I look forward to each next entry more than I look forward to most mainstream shows. Not superfluous, not lacking, just complex.

This type of horror could easily become a movie or show with hundreds of deadly levels, great videos. The amount of suspense is great and i like horror so if you like horror too, go on YouTube and watch this.
The level of storytelling KanePixels has done with this series is astounding. The environments are oppressive while being ordinary at the same time. He was dead-on with his depiction of the source material and builds on it and makes it his own to great effect.
You actually care about the characters and want them to escape. The way even small bits of dialogue can build a character is amazing.
I wrote this after watching how terribly American Horror Stories did with the Backrooms. It made me appreciate KanePixels series even more.
I look forward to him continuing this series and exploring more of the Backrooms.
