My Hero Academia is host to some of the coolest characters in anime. Between their unique Quirks and memorable personalities, many of Mha's characters leave a lasting impression in their wake. From heroes to villains, these character arcs are often inspired by more than just the intriguing abilities they display. Some have compelling or tragic backstories that draw fans in and make their hearts ache, while others are so determined to achieve their goals that their sacrifices are truly inspiring.

Being cool or badass isn't always about being a good role model or hero; sometimes, it doesn't have anything to do with making the best – or even the right – choices. The My Hero Academia anime and manga feature dozens of interesting characters, and though there are plenty who are interesting or likable, the most badass are those who fans remember long after the scars of battle have faded.

The original film remains one of the best action movies, and arguably best films, of the 20th Century, somehow appealing to our base appetite for all-out action while also presenting a nuanced portrayal of its problematic protagonist. Is Harry Callahan merely a walking advertisement for the efficacy of police brutality, or someone hampered in his pursuit of justice by a society that cares more about bureaucracy than actually catching the bad guy? It's not entirely clear in Don Siegel's film, which is part of the reason why it endures to this day.
