BBC Studios and Showtime have announced that the revenge thriller Reunion will premiere on streaming and on demand on Paramount+ for Premium Plan subscribers before its on-air debut Sunday, September 14 at 9:00 p.m. Et/Pt on Paramount+ with Showtime in the United States. Remaining episodes will premiere weekly.

The entire Reunion series will be available to stream on CBC Gem in Canada beginning Friday, September 19.

Exclusive: Sony Music is chasing an unpaid debt from the producer of Creation Stories, the Danny Boyle executive-produced UK indie movie about record label founder Alan McGee.

Sony Music has issued Creation Stories Ltd with a “winding-up petition,” which in the UK is often the last resort taken by a creditor when attempting to recover debt. Sony is essentially seeking a court order to put Creation Stories into liquidation.

Creation Stories Ltd was a special-purpose vehicle through which Creation Stories was made. Its directors are Shelley Hammond and Hollie Richmond, who ran Burning Wheel Productions, which was ultimately credited with producing Creation Stories. Hammond and Richmond now run Herd International.

Creation Stories Ltd’s most recently filed accounts, for the year to April 30, 2021, showed that it owed creditors £502,408 and had debts of £79,813.

The filmmaker, known for his bold and emotionally-charged storytelling, has wrapped production on “Chork,” which he describes as a “runaway road trip” movie. The film was co-written by Meadow’s long-term collaborator Jack Thorne, with whom he penned the three “This is England” sequels and TV series “The Virtues”.

It’s tempting for the technical story behind “Adolescence” to overshadow the themes at the center of the Netflix original. After all, this is a series composed of four hourlong one-shot episodes. But even though it was director Philip Barantini’s expertise with the oner that sparked the conversation that would lead to “Adolescence,” this directorial triumph was only utilized to highlight the tense story at the center of this limited series.

“Whenever I was reading the script, I had to be able to visualize that we were able to do this one take and it wasn’t going to be a gimmick,” Barantini told TheWrap.

“We wanted to create something that grabbed you straight away,” series star, co-creator and executive producer Stephen Graham told TheWrap. “We wanted to make it so you can’t afford to miss anything within the context of what we’re shooting.”

When it comes to British historical dramas, very few can be said to have matched the popularity attained by Peaky Blinders, so it’s understandable why fans were excited for series creator Steven Knight’s latest venture, A Thousand Blows. Set in the underworld of late 19th century London, the six-episode series focuses on the real-life all-female thieves gang, The Forty Elephants, and highlights the transition period of boxing. A Thousand Blows is engaging enough to keep its viewers hooked throughout, and aside from a solid script and the authentic recreation of historical settings, a colorful ensemble of characters proved to be the major reason behind that. Here’s the first glimpses of Adolescence, the Netflix crime drama series starring Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters and Erin Doherty.

The four-part series — from Graham and his regular collaborators Jack Thorne Philip Barantini — is notable for each episode being shot in one continuous take as the action unfolds in real time. It’s due to launch on Netflix next year and counts Brad Pitt among its exec producers. You can see the images above and below.

Adolescence will mark a first role for Owen Cooper, who plays a 13-year-old teenage boy who is arrested for the murder of a girl at his school. Graham (Boiling Point) plays his father and ‘appropriate’ adult, while Walters (Top Boy) plays a detective inspector and Soherty (The Crown) a clinical psychologist assigned to the case.

Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones), Christine Tremarco (The Responder), Mark Stanley (Happy Valley), Jo Hartley (After Life) and newcomer Amélie Pease also star.

Nickie Sault, who has produced many of Shane Meadows’ titles, has branched out on her own and launched independent producer Class 5.

The BAFTA-nominated producer is launching her Sheffield-based company with a film adaptation of author Ben Myers’ novel ‘Rare Singles’ in development, in association with Warner Music Entertainment.

Sault is known for her work with director Meadows, which began back in 2005 with This is England when she was runner. Class 5 is working with author Ben Myers on his first feature screenplay Rare Singles, based on Myers’ novel of the same name, published this August. The story is set in Chicago, US and Scarborough, UK, and is about friendships, second chances and the magic of soul music. The project is made in association with Warner Music Entertainment.

Nearly three years have passed since it was first announced that Abbey Lee (Old) and Christopher Abbott (Possessor) had signed on to star in the Australian Outback thriller Fear Is the Rider, which is coming to us from John Michael McDonagh, the BAFTA-nominated writer/director of the 2011 film The Guard… and while the project has lost Abbott in that time, it’s still alive, and Abbey Lee is still attached to star in it.
