Both series were completely revamped for their second seasons. While I don't feel Wild Card has suffered that much for the changes, I am very disappointed in what they've done to Missing, aka 1-800-Missing (poor show, it didn't even get to keep its title).
For some reason, probably just chemistry, the teaming of Caterina Scorsone and Gloria Reuben worked better than does Scorsone and Viveca Fox. The idea this year, apparently, was to make the series more intense, with Scorsone's character becoming FBI. Gone are her family and all the things that gave this series a lighter touch. Also, the visions seem less integral to the story lines.
I think my biggest gripe is the theme song is gone. I just loved the old one "This dream is real...take a look around..." It had a more lyrical quality - but then, so did the show.
"Missing" is like a really bad spin off of "1-800-Missing". It was a nice try, but REWIND and try again !!!
The first season gave us a great theme song that matched the mood of the show, and all the characters worked well together. In the second season, they changed it all up and gave us a less believable lead FBI agent with forgettable supporting cast, and a crappy theme song change. The new people in charge at least left the same actress playing the psychic, but it took another 6 or 8 episodes for the new season cast get their rhythm down well.
Not a waste of time, but not a top-notch show.
Sadly, in a counter-productive attempt at helping the show, Lifetime ruined it.
They ruined the look of the show by shooting it on video, giving it a barely-professional look and most importantly, they cast Vivica Fox.
Vivica Fox ruins every scene she is in on that show. She is devoid of any discernible acting ability and grimaces her way through scenes.
It's hard to imagine why they let an excellent actress like Gloria Reuben go, but to replace her with a bad actress like Ms. Fox shows that the show has now reached its creative death.
Maybe it is now so cheap to do (it does look like amateur hour at the local theater!) that they are still shooting it, but really... is there anyone still watching it?

- TriviaBased on Meg Cabot's book series "1-800-Where-R-You."
- ErroresThroughout the first season, several agents refer to the Special Agent In Charge as the S-A-I-C, an acronym for the position. This position is known in the FBI as the SAC (pronounced sack) and is never spelled out as the characters do with S-A-I-C. The only variation on the acronym is for the Assistant Special Agent in Charge, or ASAC (pronounced a-sack).
- Citas
Janey Cooper: Would you like a muffin?
Jess Mastriani: Oh, my God!
Janey Cooper: I make them myself.
Jess Mastriani: You're dead!
Janey Cooper: Try one.
Jess Mastriani: I don't want a muffin!
Janey Cooper: You have to be careful on this job, it could get you killed.
Jess Mastriani: No, it *did* get you killed, you're dead!
Janey Cooper: I'm not dead. If I were dead I wouldn't be able to look you in the eye and tell you, you are screwing up again.
