This new documentary film summarizes, illustrates and connects one of the principal structural elements of American society …. since the country began over 300 years ago. It is told through the discoveries of two white southern and privileged women who grew up uncomfortably aware of their own advantage in the long shadow of a disproportionately large disadvantaged population, that of the African Americans.

The 3 Mighty Men (Aka 3 Dev Adam): Better known as Turkish Spider-Man, this strange, low-budget 1973 super hero flick has Captain America teaming up with popular masked Mexican wrestler El Santo, to fight the evil villain—Spider-Man? Yes, Spider-Man is the villain in this one. With the help of a slim Kingpin and some female henchwomen, Spidey stabs, strangles and even uses carnivorous gerbils to slay his victims. I’m not sure why Captain America is operating in Turkey, or why he doesn’t have a shield, or why he’s teaming with a Mexican wrestler, or why Spider-Man is criminal now, and what the hell what up with those puppets? How did you come to make The Silences?

I wrote it as a feature drama. The story was something I really wanted to tell. I had done two feature dramas, so I wrote a script, but it was really expensive and it was really hard to get made and I just put it away. [But] It just wouldn't go away. It was this thing that kept nagging at me. I thought: can I tell it as a documentary? I got a filmmaker residency in Zurich in 2012. In celebration of country music’s top songwriters, the industry’s biggest stars stepped out for the 2013 Broadcast Music, Inc. Country Awards in Nashville on Tuesday (November 5).

Luke Bryan showed off his dapper smile, while Miranda Lambert showed off her slim figure and struck a pose with the night’s guest of honor Dean Dillon.

Other attendees included newcomer Kacey Musgraves and powerhouse trio The Band Perry. In addition, aspiring country singer/actress Lucy Hale made an appearance and is expected to be at tonight’s (November 6) Cma Awards.

There were quite a few winners last night, including Hunter Hayes taking home Song of the Year for “Wanted.”
