Back in the day, you were either a Street Fighter kid or a Mortal Kombat kid. Both had their pros and cons, but you had to choose one. I mean, your parents weren’t going to shell out good money for both, right? Well, parents who actually loved their kids did. Thanks for nothing, Dad. Since I had to choose, I went with Street Fighter. The moves seemed more straightforward to do, and my mom had less of a heart attack about the cartoony violence than the bloody gore that Mortal Kombat provided. The games after Street Fighter II were plentiful, even if the movies were not great. With a new film on the horizon,...

Noah Centineo, who starred in Dceu’s Black Adam, shocked fans after posting a shirtless photo online. Revealing a stunning body transformation, this change appears to have fans concerned and in awe, raising the question of whether he’s on steroids or not.
Signs of steroid use typically exist if muscle growth and bulking happen in a short amount of time, with some changes in facial structure as well. There is a chance that he has used performance enhancers while filming for his current movie, Street Fighter, which features very bulky characters. All this is mere speculation as Centineo himself has not commented on this sudden transformation.

Following a silhouetted tease of current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes' video game-accurate look as Guile and a first glimpse of Noah Centineo (Black Adam) suited-up as Ken Masters, we have some new behind-the-scenes photos and video from the set of the Street Fighter reboot.
The photos feature a number of cast members, including Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Andrew Koji (Ryu), and Andrew Schulz (Dan Hibiki), but Orville Peck appears to be the only one in-costume as the villainous Vega.
The South African musician has Vega's blonde hair and signature snake tattoo, but there's a good chance this isn't the mask he'll wear as the character, since Peck is known for covering his face in public.

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes will play Guile in the upcoming Street Fighter reboot, and we now have our first shadowy glimpse (via GameFragger.com) at the current Undisputed WWE Champion as the iconic video game character.
The American Nightmare was recently written off television for a few weeks after being attacked by Drew McIntyre on SmackDown. That's allowed Rhodes to shoot his role in the movie, and this behind-the-scenes photo confirms he'll be rocking Guile's iconic haircut.
It's not a particularly realistic hairstyle, but props to this movie for embracing what we've seen in this video game franchise over nearly four decades. As for Rhodes, he may be best known for his in-ring work, but the fan-favourite former Aew star also has his fair share of acting experience after appearing in Arrow, Warehouse 13, and The Naked Gun.

Bill Maher’s jokes may not have the juice to make people laugh, but one of them started a chain reaction of events that’s now exposing a major rift amongst two prominent Trump loyalists.
Last September, during an episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the host quipped that far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer was in an “arranged relationship” with Donald Trump, helping to spread a widespread rumor that the two were having the world’s grossest affair.
“We did an editorial here a few years ago,” Maher added. “it was basically, who’s Trump fucking? Because I said, you know, it’s not nobody. He’s been a dog for too long, and it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week. I think it might be Laura Loomer.”
Loomer then sued Maher and HBO for $150 million, claiming that the comment was “false, malicious and defamatory.

Street Fighter 6 arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 as a definitive statement of intent from Capcom, proving that portable hardware can deliver tournament-quality fighting experiences without meaningful compromise. This Years 1-2 Fighters Edition represents the franchise at its absolute peak, bundling two years of post-launch content into a comprehensive package that showcases both the series’ evolution and the Switch 2’s impressive capabilities.
The significance of this release cannot be overstated. After years of Nintendo platforms being relegated to inferior ports or compilation collections, Street Fighter 6 marks the first proper, current-generation entry since the 3Ds era. What Capcom has achieved here goes beyond simple porting—this is a complete fighting game ecosystem that leverages the Switch 2’s unique features while maintaining the core experience that has made Street Fighter 6 a modern classic.
The edition includes all 26 characters from the base game and both Dlc seasons, four additional stages, and a wealth of customization options.

The Street Fighter movie just landed another heavy-hitter — literally —i n the shape of one of WWE's biggest stars. The live-action Street Fighter movie finds its Chun-Li in a recent 25-year-old breakout star. In April 2023, it was announced that Legendary was developing an adaptation of the Capcom video game franchise with Danny and Michael Philippou, fresh off their successful debut Talk to Me, in talks to direct, though they eventually dropped out and were replaced by Kitao Sakurai in May 2025. More recently, the Street Fighter movie made a big splash by casting Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck in undisclosed roles.
Now, the live-action adaptation has added another star. According to Deadline, the Street Fighter movie has cast Callina Liang as Chun-Li. Representatives for Legendary declined to comment on the reported casting, and plot details remain under wraps.

The cast of the upcoming Street Fighter movie is starting to come together. After a slew of fan favorites have reportedly locked down their actors, the latest update may have revealed the casting for the freakishly buff boxer, Balrog.
Per Nexus Point News, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is reportedly in talks to play Balrog in the live-action Street Fighter film. The Balrog character has been a part of the franchise since Street Fighter II, depicted as a boxing champion from Las Vegas, Nevada. He was first introduced as a non-playable boss players had to fight ahead of taking on M. Bison, serving as his personal bodyguard. The Balrog character was originally intended to have the M. Bison name for himself, as he was based on real-life boxing legend Mike Tyson, but the developers switched the names around to avoid potential legal problems.
Jackson rose to fame in the world of rap under the 50 Cent name.

The fighting game scene may be thriving today, but when the origins of the genre were much more humble. After Yie Air Kung Fu (1984) and International Karate (1985) introduced the idea of one-on-one martial arts battles, Capcom threw its hat into the digital ring in 1987 with Street Fighter, where a scrappy young fighter named Ryu took on all comers. The game itself might’ve been somewhat underwhelming, but Capcom was far from done. The foundation for the future of gaming was there.

Warner Bros has landed an unexpectedly huge hit with A Minecraft Movie. But then, videogame adaptations have long attracted sizeable audiences…
What was the first ever live-action movie based on a videogame? The popular thinking is that it was 1993’s Super Mario Bros. In reality, it was Mirai Ninja – known in the US as Cyber Ninja – a big-screen rendering of an obscure Namco arcade game released in 1988. A full five years before Hollywood’s Mario adaptation, it featured a striking mix of katana-swinging action and giant Heian period-themed robots, yet largely drifted by unnoticed. Criminal, really. (Good news, though: it’s on archive.org if you want to watch it.)
Super Mario Bros, thanks to the recognisability of its name and the huge marketing campaign surrounding it, soon became infamous for its distinctly loose handling of Nintendo’s bouncy fairytale videogame franchise. Its critical and financial failure set something of...

The martial arts genre is one of the broadest genres in media history. In the same way that the combat sports definition of martial arts encompasses hundreds of different fighting styles, the martial arts genre contains many stories, from grand historical epics covering the rise and fall of kingdoms to gritty modern-day dramas focusing on personal tales of violence and revenge.
The anime medium is no different, as many series have featured martial arts. However, these series are often nothing alike, covering many genres, tones, and styles. Because of this, finding the best martial arts anime movie can be tricky, as no two films use martial arts exactly the same way.

The Street Fighter game had a feature film adaptation in 1994, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme.

This article contains spoilers for "Cobra Kai" season 6, part 3.
"The Karate Kid" movies started it, and "Cobra Kai" embraced it: the use of increasingly absurd special moves to win the day. The franchise was known for these game-changing, super techniques well before fighting games like "Street Fighter II" and "Mortal Kombat" made them popular, and the franchise never really stopped. As a result, "Cobra Kai" builds a wealth of these iconic moves to choose from, usually rolling out at least one every season. All of these secret techniques serve a specific purpose, but they vary greatly in power and the way they're used on the show.
For the purposes of this list, I'll focus exclusively on feats. As such, an efficient move like Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) Eagle Fang special, the Flying Tornado Kick, is out, simply because its two most prominent moments are comparatively underwhelming. Plus, one of them...
