An amusing Spanish comedy of the seventies with funny scenes, the greatest actors and lots of fun. It deals with a group of friends of Minglanillas who carry on a surprising mission . Concerning a team of friends get together and imitating the Americans decide to send two of them to the moon. But there are lots of problems, neither money , nor installations, but at least they have enthusiasm. In spite of having nothing, they decide to hire famous scientists as the German/American Von Braun and the Russian Serguei Koroliov, both of whom were the promoters or drivers of the space race. And in order to copy the Americans with their NASA they create the SANA. Along the way, they attempt to connect a space base located in Fresnedillas and, surprisingly, they get their aim and eventually, achieving a launching to outer space.

A very amusing and fun comedy with amusement, entertainment and really funny gags . Dealing with a team of botcher men who without scientific knowledge about space travels scheme to make an American-style rocket, and, of course, things go wrong. The film contains some truly unforgettable scenes as Tony Leblanc believes he is on the Moon when suddenly appears the American Seventh Cavalry in Almeria. And an extremely good main and support cast with plenty of familiar faces. Tony Leblanc is very good as group leader who finally gets to travel to outer space. Along with Jose Satornornil "Saza" as the painter, Jose Luis Coll as Valeriano el Lechero or Milkman , Antonio Ozores as Fireworks technician ,Rafael Alonso the Electrician , Antonio Ferrandis as President of Sana and Paquito Cano "Locomotoro" as Faustino the carpenter. While Jose Luis Lopez Vazquez is phenomenal as Don Anselmo , an elderly professor who reclaims to have been the one who taught scientific Von Braun. And other notorious secondaries in brief appearances as Ãlvaro de Luna, Blaki, Beni Deus , Rafael Hernández ,Sergio Mendizabal, Mary Paz Pondal and TV presenter Jose Luis Uribarri, among others.

The motion picture written and financed by the great producer Pedro Maso, was competently directed by recently deceased Javier Aguirre. This director was an uneven filmmaker giving hits and flops . Here in El Astronauta has filmed one of the best Spanish comedies of the Seventies and Seventies , having under his command the greatest Spaniard actors by the time . Father of director Arantxa Carballeira with his first wife Enriqueta Carballeira , being his second wife Esperanza Roy , both of whom played his movies . Artisan Javier Aguirre was an expert on Spanish comedy , such as Los que tocan el piano, Locuras de Parchis, Parchis entra en acción, Soltero y Padre en la Vida, Rocky Carambola, Soltera y Madre en la Vida, De profesión sus Labores , La Guerra de Los Niños, El consenso, Los Chicos con las Chicas, En Busca del Huevo Perdido . Aguirre also made quite a few terror movies as Gran Amor de Conde Dracula , Asesino esta en sus Trece, Jorobado de la Morgue . Furthermore , he made various "Avant Garde" films . Rating : 7/10 . The picture will appeal to Spanish comedy enthusiasts . Well worth watching.
