Güzelligin Portresi

While watching this film sometimes I forgot this was a Turkish movie. It is one of the best Turkish thrillers. Ofc, there are flaws.. we want to see more films like this one.

Hollywood has made many of the same films. Technically, the movie is good. But it can't be convincing when it's a Turkish movie.

I just watched it and in my opinion it's not a horror movie. I'm Turkish and still living in Turkey but I hate all Turkish horror movies actually. Soms of my friends suggested me this movie and they said that its not like a Turkish horror movie. That's why I watched this film. They were right it's not like general Turkish horror movies but on the other side it's like american thriller movies but there were a lot of bad things like effects and acting (just for some scenes)

Final twist was a bit forced to be honest, felt like an overkill. Other than that, it's watchable.

After his death, a woman reluctantly returns to her home to settle her eccentric father's estate. Admired for his striking artwork, the father's dark and questionable methodology left his daughter damaged. Unable to quickly expedite the closing of his estate, she, along with her husband and daughter, are forced to stay in his eerie sprawling home and she slowly begins to succumb to the psychological affects the house, haunting memories and his artwork has on her.

I've not watched a lot of Turkish horror/thrillers so I do not have much to compare it to in that regard. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this. A solid thriller, this has rich dark undertones and supernatural elements that left me feeling as if, at times, I was watching "The Shinning."

My only complaint is that it did feel a bit long and there were a few things that could've simply been left out. The acting is absolutely great and the story was captivating though and totally makes up for any downside.

I am completely comfortable recommending this film for folks looking for a good thriller.
