Spring Breakers 2: Cast, Plot & Everything We Know So Far
Image
Harmony Korine's 2013 film "Spring Breakers" is a time capsule of the early 2010s -- a time when James Franco was still a big-name movie star and Skrillex's brostep bass wobbles soundtracked all of the cool parties in town. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine, the film follows four college students who turn to a life of crime after meeting Alien (Franco), a drug dealer who convinces them to wear pink balaclavas, carry machine guns, and dance to Britney Spears power ballads.

Considering that Harmony Korine was banned from "The David Letterman Show" for causing mischief, it makes sense that he'd create a movie about renegades wreaking havoc. That said, "Spring Breakers" also taps into the universal feeling of being young, carefree, and wanting the party to last forever -- themes most of us can relate to, even if we didn't grow up listening to...

Israeli Streamer Izzy Pushes Into Daily Dramas With ‘Dumb’ & Ananey Studios Deals; Ex-Disney & Moonbug Exec David Levine Leading On Expansion
Image
Exclusive: Israeli content streamer Izzy is pushing into daily series, and veteran international TV exec David Levine is onboard to oversee the strategy.

The plan is kicking off this month with Dumb, an Israeli drama series for Hot that was licensed from Dori Media. It was created by and stars Bat-Chen Sabag and Lior Raz (Fauda), and Shay Capon is the director. Episodes will rollout every weekday.

That will be followed by a slate of teen dramas from Paramount Global’s Israeli production house, Ananey Studios, and we understand that Teen Nick drama Rising is among the first of them. The strategy, led by former Disney Channel and Moonbug exec Levine, is being positioned as a response to a perceived growing appetite for serialized programs.

“Expanding into daily drama represents a transformative moment for Izzy,” said Nati Dinnar, CEO and co-founder of Izzy. “We are redefining what international audiences can...

Stranger Things' Chrissy Actor Details Alleged Sexual Misconduct & Acting Break
Image
Grace Van Dien, best known for playing Chrissy Cunningham in Stranger Things season 4, has opened up about a recent alleged sexual misconduct incident that caused her to take a break from acting. Van Dien has appeared in several TV series since 2005, and though she even starred in shows like Greenhouse Academy and The Village, it was her appearance as an innocent cheerleader and Vecna-victim Chrissy in Stranger Things that skyrocketed her to massive popularity in the past year.

On one of Van Dien's recent Twitch streams, the Stranger Things actor details an alleged sexual misconduct she experienced on the set of a recent film.

Netflix claims they have never canceled a successful show
Image
At this point, if you were to be asked what your favorite Netflix show is, you might first need to clarify: On the air or canceled? Since 2012, Netflix has failed to renew dozens upon dozens of shows, many of which have irked fans into protests and online bashing of the streaming giant.

In a joint interview with Bloomberg, co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters discussed their partnership, where the streamer is headed, and one of the most controversial Netflix topics: the barrage of fan-favorite shows that have been canceled. In a rather bold statement, Sarandos said, “We have never canceled a successful show.” But before you go jumping down his throat, he did offer an explanation: “A lot of these shows were well-intended but talk to a very small audience on a very big budget. The key to it is you have to be able to talk to a small...

It's been a long wait without fresh episodes of Stranger Things, but the Netflix hit is adding some new cast members that confirm a return to a former location for the series.

They join fellow new cast members Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn, who were all announced to be joining the show shortly after production resumed.

McNulty (Anne With an E) joins as Vickie, a “cool, fast-talking nerd,” according to her character description.

She catches the eye of one of the core cast members, so that will be fun!

The actress has also appeared in Morgan and British series Agatha Raisin.

Truitt will play Patrick, a Hawkins basketball star who has talent, friends, and a good life until a big turn of events sends his life spiraling.

Netflix has announced the fate of another two series, and it's not good news for both, unfortunately.

When a hurricane kills the power for the summer season, it sets off a chain of illicit events that force the friends to make life-altering decisions.

The search for their ringleader’s missing father, forbidden romances, a high-stakes treasure hunt, and the escalating conflict between the Pogues and their rivals turn their summer into one filled with mystery and adventure they’ll never forget.

Everything Coming to Netflix in March
Matthew McConaughey at an event for El niño y el fugitivo (2012)
Netflix is adding a robust line-up of popular programs to its slate in March.

In addition to rom-coms like Matthew Mcconaughey’s “Ghosts of Girlfriend’s Past,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Always a Bridesmaid,” the streamer is also adding a few classics like “Goodfellas” and “The Shawshank Redemption” starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The latter film also serves as an analogy for actor Macaulay Culkin’s journey to freedom, according to his Esquire interview.

Original Netflix shows coming to the platform next month include “Lost Girls,” “Crip Camp” and Season 3 of “Elite.” Based on a true story, “Lost Girls” follows a mother who, in her desperate search to find her missing daughter, helps to uncover a string of unsolved murders. Amy Ryan, Gabriel Byrne and Thomasin Mckenzie make up the cast.

Castlevania (2017)
Netflix Is Adding Tons Of Great Horror Movies And TV Shows In March
Castlevania (2017)
With February 29th fast approaching – this is a Leap Year, remember – Netflix is preparing to roll out a fresh helping of new content for March 2020.

It’s a familiar combination of original series, time-honored classics and beloved franchise films, with next month set to herald the arrival of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and its undead sequel, Extinction. Sure, it’s a far cry from the quality and craft of The Lord of the Rings – speaking of which, both the Twin Towers and The Return of the King will be departing Netflix in four weeks’ time – but the saga of Alice still carved out an audience to call its own.

Also peppered throughout Netflix’s March 2020 catalog are some big-name horror titles and edge-of-your-seat thrillers, including Signs and the third season of Ozark. And then there’s the third season of Castlevania, which, it’s fair to say, has been a long time coming.

New on Netflix: March 2020 Releases
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in El cadáver de la novia (2005)
Alec Bojalad Feb 19, 2020

Here's what's new on Netflix in March 2020! We've got a complete list of what's leaving, too.

Normally the big story for each month of Netflix new releases are the exciting batch of Netflix original series and movies arriving. For Netflix's new releases for March 2020, things are a little bit different. Yes, there are some cool originals here but...look at those movies!

March 1 sees the arrival of Corpse Bride, The Shawshank Redemption, There Will Be Blood, and Goodfellas! Martin Scorsese likely can't unilaterally decide when and where his movies stream, but it is a happy coincidence that Goodfellas will now exist alongside The Irishman.

As for those Netflix originals...Ozark is the biggest returning hit in March. The story of a very corrupt family airs its third season on March 27. Also of note are Castlevania season 3 (March 5), Altered Carbon: Resleeved (March 19). But really after Goodfellas, nothing else was really necessary.

The bad news is that throughout the month we’re losing “Black Panther,” “Eat Pray Love,” “The Waterboy,” “P.S. I Love You,” “Batman Begins,” both “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and “The Two Towers,” and “Kill Bill” Volumes 1 and 2.

Here’s How Long It Would Take to Watch All of Netflix’s 2018 Original Programming
No TV conversation is complete anymore without the Netflix behemoth, as the service adds entire seasons to its never-ending pile on a weekly basis. While recently putting together a roundup of every TV review IndieWire has published in 2018, we came to the realization that it would probably take a lifetime to get through all the shows released in this calendar year alone.

Netflix has said it will spend upwards of $8 billion annually in programming costs. Granted, some of that goes to acquisition of previously produced content — but CFO David Wells has said Netflix will produce as much as 700 originals worldwide this year. That’s a lot of TV.
