I was so excited to watch this drama (mainly because of Xu Kai) because I loved all of his previous dramas. It was always full of character building, intense romance and lots of fantastic fight scenes. But this one fell short for me. The story started off interesting with mysteries about the family background of both the ML and FL but nothing explosive came out of it. As for the romance, both the ML and FL did a good job in their roles but didnt have the fireworks that makes one excited to see and look forward to the next scene they are together. There's no flirtatious moments, intimate moments or jealous moments of any kind except for a couple of kiss scenes that didnt give off any vibes. Unlike Xu Kai in the Legends with Bai Lu for example. And of course the worst part and most frustrating thing about this drama is how absolutely dumb everyone is. The good guys anyways. The ML's brother being the worst of them. Even after being told he was being used he just goes on being used. Also the many deaths in the show (and there are lots), not one of them made my heart break because it was so anticlimactic. It was more like...what? They died like that? The only reason I was able to finish the series is for the fight scenes (which wasnt too bad) and the fact that I already invested so much time into the show.
