Her mother's first cousin is Katie Wright, who is mother of the late rapper Eazy-E.

She is also related to basketball player Kyle O'Quinn, and actors Monte O'Quinn and Tyrice Lollis.

Emmy went to high school with Daniel V. Graulau and went to college with Kunjané Lyons-Latimer Glenn . She also met Brandon Deyette back in 2001.
