Came to India originally only for a short visit, but liked it so much that he left New York City and the USA. He closed his theatre company and came to India to work in the film business. Up until that time, he had never been in a film, and only worked live on stage.

J. Brandon Hill became the recipient of the Aaj Ka Karmveer Award for his respected field as an Actor in Entertainment and Film Motion Picture Arts. The ceremony was held on 8 December 2023.

Theatre is a lot different from films. Theatre is an actor's medium. In a film you don't get the whole picture about the film. You don't know what the character will be afterwards. You don't know where it is going to play. . As an actor, you know the whole play. Also, the great thing about theatre is that you rehearse. So you get to mold things, try things, sculpt things. You are more in control as an actor. Theatre is like coming home.
