Migrated to the United States as a war refugee from Vietnam in the late 1970s as part of the wave of "boat people".

Served as a language consultant and coach for many Hollywood Vietnam War films and personally coached actors like Sylvester Stallone, Ralph Macchio Martin Sheen among others.

Broke in the Hollywood business by being Farah Fawcett's stunt double.

While as a teenage refugee in a refugee camp in the Philippines, he served as a Vietnamese extras wrangler on the set of Apocalypse Now due to his multilingual abilities.
