Was a good friend of fellow actor Corey Haim, with whom he starred in two movies (including "Firstborn", Haim's film debut, playing his brother). Years later, Collet served as a pallbearer at Corey's funeral.

Collet and co-star Cynthia Nixon were both attending New York's Hunter College/High School at the time they filmed "The Manhattan Project".

When they're not performing, he and his actress-wife run a Pilates studio in NYC.

His last name is pronounced "coal-lay." His father was French, from Annecy le Vieux, Haute-Savoie, Rhône-Alpes. His mother, a New Yorker, is of Russian Jewish and Belarusian Jewish descent.

Shortly before his parents' wedding, Chris's mother broke her leg in a skiing accident. She was walked down the aisle wearing a cast.
