Mother-in-law of Pamela Harriman during her marriage to Randolph; Vic Oliver and Anthony Beauchamp during their marriages to Sarah; and Christopher Soames during his marriage to Mary.

While living with her family in Dieppe, France in 1899, the then-14 year old Clementine met and became infatuated with the much-older Walter Sickert, describing him to her daughter years later as the most-handsome and compelling man she had ever met.
