During the 1980s, he worked for the now legendary video store Time Shift Video, whose illustrious clientele included Madonna, Keith Haring, and novelist Richard Price. Among Dan's co-workers were the actress Lisa Edelstein (House, M.D.) and director Kevin Bray (All About The Benjamins, Walking Tall). A then unknown actress named Jennifer Anniston also used to frequent Time Shift.

True to his Texas roots, he has appeared in Wes Anderson's Bottle Rocket, Friday Night Lights with Billy Bob Thornton, and the Chuck Norris vehicle Walker, Texas Ranger.

In the late 1980s, he produced and hosted the highly successful downtown New York talk/variety show One + One for New York Cable.

Dan L Burkarth is an active, working member of the Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA and Actor's Equity Association. He volunteer instructs, teaches and coaches for all three of these unions.
