Graduated from l'IDHEC (La Fémis)

Best known for his political thrillers and cop stories.

Was hired by MGM to find some documents about the moon, for Stanley Kubrick who prepared 2001. Odisea del espacio (1968). In that purpose, Boisset spend many months around the world with scientists. But when he began to direct himself he had no more time to work directly for Kubrick. Eventually, the material which he purchased for 2001 Space Odyssey was never used.

Boisset frequently contributed to the scripts he shot and is known for his fast-paced action-adventures and his social and political thrillers.

Boisset began his career as an assistant director.
