Married to Guiding Light co-star Mandy Bruno Bogue.

Robert has two children with his ex-wife Anouk Dirkse - a son Zebulon Jeremiah (b.2003) and a daughter Zoe Chinook (b.2005). He also has one child with his current wife Mandy Bruno - a son, Flynn Zachariah (b.2012).

After growing up as a fan of Herman Melville and James Fenimore Cooper, Robert discovered, later in life, that he is related to both men.

After a mercury-filled blood pressure device cracked on the set of "Guiding Light," along with several cast members, he was ordered into quarantine while New York City's health department examined them. They were all given a clean bill of health.

On his mother's side, Robert shares a great grandfather with Montgomery Cliff.
