Did Netflix Just Reveal 2 Must-Watch Jason Statham Movies Coming to Streaming Next Month?
Image
Jason Statham’s most recent action epic found success at the box office and streaming on Amazon MGM+, but Netflix may have inadvertently spoiled two huge titles from the star coming soon. The streamer has opened tabs for both The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Furious 7, and while they’re not available to stream now, it does present the option to remind subscribers when they are. This means both films will likely be available to stream on Netflix soon, possibly even at the beginning of next month. Both were mostly well-received by critics and audiences, and each found financial success. Statham is also expected to return to the Fast & Furious franchise in the 11th and final installment after Fast X teased his reprisal as Deckard Shaw.

Released in 2015, Furious 7 earned an 82% from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film also grossed $1.5 billion at the global box office.

F1 North America Box Office Day 28: Beats Fast & Furious ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Brad Pitt’s F1 has achieved yet another feat at the box office in North America. It has beaten the $150 million+ domestic haul of Fast & Furious to add another feather to its glorious cap. The movie is the least impacted despite facing biggies, including Jurassic World Rebirth, Superman, and now The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It has consistently been in the top five in the domestic box office chart. Keep scrolling for the deets.

Brad Pitt’s film is an ambitious project backed by Apple. If it outperforms Fast & Furious, a franchise movie that built its success over decades, it will validate prestige, realism, and authenticity over the usual franchise formula. This also means that Pitt’s movie is not just a niche motorsport flick but a true mainstream box office force.

Jason Statham’s Mega‑Franchise Is Speeding Onto a New Streaming Platform
Image
When it comes to the extended family of the Fast & Furious film series, there's a whole slate of world-famous stars that make the movies all the more thrilling. One addition to the cast, however, brought a different flavor to the whole experience — especially because of the way he was introduced. Jason Statham (The Beekeeper) joined the franchise in 2013 as Deckard Shaw, and immediately became a fan-favorite due to his ruthless pursuit of Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his gang. Now, you will be able to watch the whole thing unravel once again as Netflix adds the Fast & Furious collection to its library on August 16.

The streamer will add seven of the 11 entries in its catalog, starting with The Fast and the Furious, which premiered all the way back in 2001. The story kicks off with Brian O'Conner (the late Paul Walker) infiltrating an illegal street racing gang in order to...

Vin Diesel Teases the Return of 'The Last Witch Hunter'
Image
Now that his tentpole action franchise, Fast and Furious, is approaching the finish line, Vin Diesel is on the hunt for another series he hopes will dominate the box office. With another Riddick adventure already on the way, Diesel has teased what’s next on his agenda, suddenly teasing a long-awaited sequel to a long-forgotten fantasy action failure.

Taking to Instagram, Diesel shared a “throwback” image of himself sporting the glorious long hair and beard of the movie’s main character, and immortal witch hunter, Kaulder. Pairing the image with the simple caption, “Kaulder…,” it’s obvious that the actor is teasing the return of The Last Witch Hunter franchise. A franchise that, while now largely forgotten, carries a lot of potential for further adventures.

Released back in 2015, The Last Witch Hunter takes inspiration from a character that Diesel himself made for his personal Dungeons & Dragons campaign. The fantasy action outing centers on Kaulder,...

5 Extremely Bad Movies That Somehow Made a Billion Dollars
Image
When you purchase through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

Bad movies are everywhere, especially in this new age of Hollywood, where either every film is just about someone’s identity or just a dumb popcorn flick that can only be enjoyed by children. It seems to me that the writers in Hollywood have forgotten to write memorable or even coherent characters. Don’t get me wrong, movies like Dune and Oppenheimer do exist, but for every Oppenheimer, there are at least two Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In this article, we are going to focus on some extremely bad movies that were enjoyed or rightfully hated by millions of people in the theatres, and I say that because all of the films mentioned below have earned over a billion dollars.

Image
F1 North America Box Office Day 15 Update (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Brad Pitt starrer F1 consistently earns winning numbers at the box office, and it is on track to beat this Fast & Furious movie in North America. It is a racing film like Fast & Furious movies, but not part of any franchise. Therefore, beating this Paul Walker starrer film is a significant achievement for Pitt’s movie. Keep scrolling for more.

The Fast and the Furious was the first film in the Fast & Furious franchise, and it later became a phenomenon. The American action media franchise follows street racing, heists, and spies, and ten movies are in the main franchise. The latest movie, Fast X, was released in 2023. Pitt’s film has excellent ratings on the aggregate site and would have set benchmark collections at the box office if it had not been released during this time. Releasing...

The Fast & Furious Movie That Changed Everything Races To Streaming Success 14 Years Later
Image
The Fast & Furious franchise was a movie series about illegal street racers who also pulled off criminal heists, until one installment changed everything. In Fast Five, the franchise shifted into a film about former illegal street racers who began to work stopping major criminals, which led to enormous changes for the rest of the movies.

Fast Five saved the Fast & Furious franchise by shifting this focus and making the "family" almost like superheroes in espionage movies. Many consider the fifth film the best in the Fast & Furious series, and this is evident in the continued success it enjoys on streaming platforms.

Fast Five is now streaming on Prime Video and has entered the top 10, ranking at number eight in the U.S. for movies, 14 years after its theatrical release. It currently sits ahead of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Twisters, and is trending up in the rankings.

Before Fast & Furious: The Overlooked Paul Walker Thriller That Sparked A Secret Society Franchise You Probably Forgot Had Two Sequels

Before Fast & Furious: Paul Walker’s Forgotten Thriller That Launched a Secret Society Trilogy ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Before Paul Walker took the wheel in Fast & Furious, he appeared in a lesser-known mystery drama set in a world far removed from racing lanes. The Skulls, released in 2000, placed Walker in a world of covert alongside Joshua Jackson.

The film raked in more than $50 million globally (per Box Office Mojo), made on a modest $15 million budget. Though not widely remembered today, the film didn’t stop there. It later led to two low-profile follow-ups, both of which quietly extended the idea of underground student societies and their secrets.

The Forgotten Paul Walker Thriller That Launched A Franchise
Image
Rob Cohen's 2000 conspiracy thriller "The Skulls" was a notable hit when it was first released, earning over $50 million on a $15 million budget. The film starred Paul Walker and Joshua Jackson, both rising stars from the late-'90s teen movie circuit. Jackson had recently appeared in films like "Apt Pupil," "Urban Legend," and "Cruel Intentions," while Walker had made a splash in "Pleasantville," "Varsity Blues," and "She's All That." Both of them were, naturally, all that. After "The Skulls," Jackson would continue to rise with the hit soap opera "Dawson's Creek," and Walker would appear in "The Fast and the Furious" the next year. We all know how big its sequels became.

It was a stroke of casting fortune that Walker and Jackson should star in "The Skulls" together, and as rivals, no less. The attractiveness quotient is not measurable by human tools. "The Skulls" takes place at a prestigious,...

Katharine Hepburn had zero tolerance for stupid behavior. If someone came off to her as unprepared or unworthy, she let them know it. It was said at that time that Hepburn’s sharp tongue could cut through ego without hesitation and that fierce clarity made her a legend, especially when she stood firm against old Hollywood standards or wore pants like it was no one’s business but her own. It also meant she wasn’t the easiest person to work with unless you had a thick skin and confidence to spare.

An Awkward First Meeting Between Katharine Hepburn & Peter O’Toole

Vin Diesel's Bizarre Fast & Furious Finale Conditions Would Ruin The Franchise
Image
Vin Diesel has a tendency to just say things, especially when it comes to the "Fast and Furious" franchise. As /Film's Ben Pearson once put it, Diesel is "a guy who seems to believe in the power of speaking ideas out loud in order for them to ultimately become a reality." There was the time he hinted there would be an all-female "Fast & Furious" movie, or that time he claimed "Fast X" was the start of a brand new trilogy, which seems painfully optimistic given that the movie was a financial disappointment.

Now, Diesel is back to saying things about this franchise again. The actor made an appearance during Fuel Fest, a car enthusiast event in California (per Variety), and seemingly promised the release of the next film (which the actor called "the finale of 'Fast and Furious'") will happen in April 2027. What's more, Diesel told the enthusiastic crowd...

Vin Diesel wants Paul Walker back in ‘Fast 11’ — will that finally bring the franchise its elusive Oscar bid? The case for and against
Image
The Fast & Furious franchise is speeding towards its conclusion — and Vin Diesel is still hoping an Oscar is there waiting at the finish line. During a weekend appearance at Fuel Fest, an annual Los Angeles-area festival for automobile aficionados, the action star teased an April 2027 premiere date for the 11th and final Fast picture... and the potential return of his alter ego Dom Toretto's favorite shotgun sidekick, Brian O'Conner, a role originated by the late Paul Walker.

"The studio [Universal] said to me, 'Vin, can we please have the finale of ‘Fast and Furious' [in] April 2027?'" Diesel told the Fuel Fest crowd. "I said, 'Under three conditions.' First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner."

Vin Diesel Teases a ‘Fast and Furious’ Reunion with the Late Paul Walker’s Character in Final Franchise Film
Image
Vin Diesel is promising “Fast and Furious” fans that the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner will return for the final film in the blockbuster franchise. Diesel, who stars in and produces the films, said during an appearance at Walker‘s brother Cody Walker’s car festival Fuel Fest that the eleventh “Fast and Furious” feature will have a reunion between characters Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and O’Conner (Walker).

Walker died in 2013 in a car accident prior to the completion of the seventh film. His brothers Cody and Caleb served as stand-ins for his character in that film, which used CGI and VFX to give Walker’s character a sendoff as he drove off into the sunset. The character of Brian O’Conner exited the franchise at the end of “Furious 7” with the explanation that he was settling down with his family, including Jordana Brewster’s Mia Toretto, who is Diesel’s onscreen sister.

Fast X: Part 2 Promises L.A. Street Races and Brian’s Return
Vin Diesel
At a FuelFest charity event near Los Angeles on 29 June, Vin Diesel told fans the eleventh and final Fast & Furious film will hit theatres on 2 April 2027, four years after Fast X, and asked the crowd to “save the date.” He added that he had accepted the sequel only on the condition that it return “home to L.A., back to street racing and car culture” and reunite Dominic Toretto with Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, a prospect he called “non-negotiable.”

Entertainment Weekly later confirmed the April 2027 window and Brian’s involvement, while noting that Universal has yet to settle on an official title for what is being marketed as Fast X: Part 2. Director Louis Leterrier, who inherited Fast X after Justin Lin’s exit, remains at the wheel and has repeatedly said the finale must “start where it began,” namely the quarter-mile strips of southern California.

‘Fast & Furious 11’ Could See the Controversial Return of This Character Who Was Written Out 10 Years Ago
Image
The road to the end of the Fast & Furious franchise just got a little more emotional—and possibly more controversial. In a recent appearance, Vin Diesel hinted at something that would’ve seemed impossible a decade ago: the return of Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner in Fast & Furious 11, set to premiere in April 2027. Walker, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2013, has remained an emotional cornerstone of the franchise even after his death. His character, Brian O’Conner, was written out in Furious 7 with a moving beachside farewell, aided by stand-ins and visual effects. The franchise chose to respect Walker’s legacy by allowing Brian to live on off-screen, raising a family with Mia (Jordana Brewster) while Dom and the crew continued to save the world in increasingly wild fashion. Now, though?

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast and Furious [in] April 2027?’ I said,...

Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner returning for Fast & Furious 11; Vin Diesel confirms April 2027 release
Vin Diesel
Vin Diesel gassed up audiences at this year’s FuelFest in California over the weekend, announcing that the next installment in the Fast & Furious franchise will hit the streets in April 2027. Not only that, but it will somehow find a way to bring back Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner.

Vin Diesel took to the stage to announce that Fast & Furious 11 (Fast X2? Fast XI?) was brought to him by Universal, to which he agreed if certain terms could be met. But these had nothing to do with salary or assuring that his head is bigger than Dwayne Johnson’s on the poster, but rather making die-hard fans happy. “The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast & Furious April 2027? I said under three conditions: The first is to bring the franchise back to L.A…The second thing was to return to the car culture,...

Vin Diesel Reveals ‘Fast & Furious’ Finale Release Window, Says Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner Character Will Return
Image
Vin Diesel surprised a crowd on Saturday at FuelFest in Southern California, saying that the final film in the Fast & Furious franchise will hit theaters in April 2027.

Diesel, who has starred in all but one installment since 2001’s original, broke more news during his remarks onstage, confirming the film will be set in Los Angeles and that it will reunite Diesel’s Dominic Toretto character with Brian O’Conner, the character played by Paul Walker.

Walker starred with Diesel in the original and appeared in five installments before he was killed in a car crash in November 2013 at age 40.

Diesel previously had taken to his social media channels to urge Universal Pictures to date Fast X 2, the follow-up to 2023’s Fast X which grossed $700 million-plus at the global box office. The sequel has been billed as the final film in the franchise.

He had previously touted that the film should be set in Los Angeles,...

I Love James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ but 1 Oscar-Winning Actress Never Playing Lois Lane to Brendan Fraser’s Superman Still Hurts
Image
With early reviews and test screenings, James Gunn’s Superman is looking to be pretty darn impressive, and I do love almost everything that the movie has to offer (almost everything).

However, it was cruel fate that Brendan Fraser, who was once considered for the role of Superman in the early 2000s, never got to see his Man of Steel fly by. What hurts more is that Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock was also once attached to the project, and she could have been perfect for the role of Lois Lane against Brendan Fraser’s Superman.

Brendan Fraser and Sandra Bullock’s Superman never took flight

It was back in the early 2000s when Warner Bros. called on J.J. Abrams to pen a script about a new Superman movie. Brendan Fraser was one of the actors who had been heavily considered for the role alongside Paul Walker and others.

Vin Diesel Officially Confirms the Return of Another Dead Fast & Furious Character (& It's Exactly the 1 You Think)
Image
The Fast & Furious franchise began in 2001, and, over two decades later, it includes ten films in the original saga and a spinoff. The original film series is expected to end with the upcoming Fast X: Part 2, and Vin Diesel just teased that it would pull out all the stops and even bring back another dead character.

The end credits of 2023's Fast X revealed that Gal Gadot's Gisele Yashar has survived the events of 2013's Fast & Furious 6, although it's unclear how. Her character is not the only dead character to return, as well as the rest of the main crew, after the plane crash. During FuelFest, the car show combining the automotive world with musical performances and appearances from the Fast & Furious cast, Vin Diesel confirmed Fast X: Part 2 will bring back Brian.

Paul Walker's Character Returns In Fast 11 Confirmed As Vin Diesel Drops 4 Blockbuster Finale Bombshells
Image
Fast & Furious 11 will bring the franchise full-circle by bringing back a fan-favorite character. The long-awaited sequel will continue the story after Fast X's cliffhanger ending for Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his son, "Little B" (Leo Abelo Perry), whose fates were left ambiguous after Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) detonated explosives. Fast X's ending also featured the return of Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot).

At FuelFest in Los Angeles, Vin Diesel took to the stage to reveal big Fast 11 details. He started stating an April 2027 release date, saying he and Universal agreed to make the next movie the finale on three conditions. The first and second were bringing the series back to its roots in Los Angeles and to street racing.

The third, which Diesel milked for the crowd, was that Brian O'Conner – played in six earlier movies by the late Paul Walker – will be making a proper return in the film.

‘Sinners’ Sinks Vin Diesel’s $90 Million Hit That Roger Ebert Defended Despite 29% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Having essentially completed its theatrical run — the movie is also available to watch at home now — director Ryan Coogler's Sinners has perhaps one or two minor box office milestones left to pass. The movie emerged as a massive hit in the domestic market, but struggled internationally. Now in its third month of release, Sinnershas grossed more than $360 million at the worldwide box office, hopefully encouraging the industry to invest more money in original projects. Sinners was also notable for the unusual deal that Coogler struck with Warner Bros., which would see its rights revert to him after 25 years. The movie has overtaken a host of major releases over the course of its run, the most recent of which being Fast & Furious.

Directed by Justin Lin, the film was released in 2009. It served as a soft reboot for the franchise, which was on the decline with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift...

Netflix's Replacement For Kevin James' One Season Racecar Flop Boasts an Impressive Season 2 Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
The second season of Tires hit Netflix at the start of this month, but the show has stretched its legs and found extended success well beyond what anyone was expecting. At the time of writing, Shane Gillis’ comedy series, which has drawn comparisons to Kevin James' The Crew, is still sitting comfortably in the Netflix top 10 in the fifth spot. Although it’s dropped a bit and given up its spot to newer arrivals like Ginny & Georgia, two straight weeks in the top 10 is still something to be proud of. Tires Season 2 saw an increase in its Rotten Tomatoes scores from both critics and audiences. Season 1 debuted with 40% from critics and 87% from audiences on the aggregate site, while Season 2 turned up the heat with 71% from critics and 93% from audiences.

In addition to Shane Gillis, Tires also stars Steve Gerben as Will, Chris O’Connor as Cal, Kilah Fox as Kilah, Stavros Halkias as Dave Louvopolis,...

Starring in the lead role of Janiyah Wiltkinson in Straw is Taraji P. Henson recently sat down for an interview with Decider, and she spoke about the nearly twenty years she’s been working with writer/director Tyler Perry, even praising the scripts he’s sent her over the years:

Vin Diesel’s Fantasy Epic That Helped Him Cope With the Loss of Paul Walker Hits Streaming Charts
Image
Vin Diesel will always be known for his work as Dom Toretto in the Fast & Furious movies, but 10 years ago, he starred in a fantasy epic that’s found new life on streaming. Diesel features alongside Elijah Wood and Michael Caine in The Last Witch Hunter, the 2015 film following a witch hunter who stands between humanity and the deadliest witches in history. The Last Witch Hunter began streaming on Netflix not long ago, and the film wasted no time climbing to the top of streaming charts, sitting at #2 at the time of writing, behind only Gerard Butler’s Plane. The Last Witch Hunter earned poor scores of 18% from critics and 42% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $146 million at the box office against a $90 million budget.

Vin Diesel’s Fast & Furious co-star, Paul Walker, passed away on November 20, 2013, less than a year before The Last Witch Hunter began filming.

Vin Diesel’s Forgotten Fantasy Flop That Halted Due to Paul Walker Is Now Resurrected on Netflix
Image
Vin Diesel’s 2015 fantasy action movie is experiencing a surprising revival nearly a decade after its rocky debut. The movie, which struggled critically and commercially, has returned from the grave. With its theme of magic, immortality, and ancient curses, the movie features a supernatural, mythological twist. And, Diesel is not unfamiliar with this theme.

Now, nearly a decade later, the movie is resurrected on the global streaming giant Netflix, reigniting the long-promised sequel. However, this forgotten flick has a far more emotional backstory for Diesel, something that halted the entire production. The movie is The Last Witch Hunter, and it is getting an unlikely second life on Netflix.
