Toni Bukovics Bernecker

Austrian character actress, the daughter of a civil servant. In films of the 1930's and 40's, usually in maternal roles.

Von Bukovics was born in Budapest, Hungary, the daughter of an Austrian civil servant working there, and initially bore the first name Antonie. In 1909 she married and from then on she was called Bernecker-Bukovics. The marriage was divorced in 1922.

Toni von Bukovics began her professional career as a stage actress and she appeared at numerous theaters.

She joined the film business at a relative old age and she impersonated numerous support roles in the next years.

Her engagements led her to cities like Vienna, Prague, Zurich, Rome, Stuttgart, Berlin and Munich.
