Has dual citizenship to Canada, and the U.K.

Was born in Nairobi, Kenya, to parents of Punjabi descent. Immigrated to Canada when she was 7 years of age.

Has a great ear for accents; had to do a Scottish/East Indian accent for the film Nina's Heavenly Delights (2006) - which was shot on location in Glasgow, Scotland.

Has traveled by canoe down the Amazon river, explored the Canadian Rockies extensively on horseback, the Queen Charlotte Islands, and safaried the Masai Mara.

Graduated high school at age 16, and graduated from University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree by age 20.
