She was nominated for a 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright of 2001 for "Tender", performed at the Hampstead Theatre.

She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to Theatre and Screenwriting. She is a screenwriter in London, England.

Has two children with long-term partner Jacob Krichefski.
