Her stage name, "Miou-Miou" means pussycat in French, was given to her by a lover when she was 18.

A ten-time César Award nominee, she won the César Award for Best Actress for the 1979 film Memoirs of a French Whore.

Had a daughter Jeanne Herry, with her former companion, famous singer Julien Clerc.

Had a daughter, Angèle Herry-Leclerc, with French actor Patrick Dewaere, in 1974.

Her stage name, Miou-Miou (a reference to the sound of a cat), was given to her by Coluche (French stage comedian and cinema actor.).

In the very first years of my career, I was so little confident in my acting abilities that I couldn't help feeling like a total fraud. I was amazed that no one seemed to realize that. For a long while, I even lived in a constant fear that someone finally did.

I'm not beautiful, and therefore am not on a more distant plateau, and I have a daily-life side to me; people know I have the same problems they do - raising children and so on.
