- Has played two highly contrasting characters involved in the conflict of Henry VIII: Archbishop Thomas Cranmer in "A Man for all Seasons" (who was one of the leading figures in supporting Henry's break of the Church) and Prior Houghton in "Anne of a Thousand Days" (who was among those that opposed Henry's break from the Church).
