- Deep gravelly voice
- Often played steel-jawed and hard-nosed military commanders
- Doubled for Elvis Presley in several of his movies, including Primos queridos (1964), in which there was an error in one of the scenes where you can see it's Lance when it's supposed to be Elvis.
- Last name is pronounced "luh-GOH"... not "Gault" as in "Fault".
- Is well-known for his portrayals of stern and severe military personnel, especially officers.
- Can be seen in the "live performance" segments of Elvis' '68 Comeback Special, sitting on the edge of the stage, occasionally playing a tambourine during songs.
- Lance LeGault was an accomplished pilot, and enjoyed flying his Cessna Skyhawk. He also bred Arabian horses on his ranch.
- We shot Primos queridos (1964) in seventeen days, and I think that was the turning point. Up until then, certain standards had been maintained. Once they realized they could do a film so quickly, we were on fast pictures. The first time I noticed it was in Roustabout (1964). Elvis rode a Honda in it. Which is pretty silly, when you think about it, because Elvis rides Harleys. Yet, in the film, they put him on a 350 Honda. And this is a guy who's playing a drifter whose only mode of transportation is his bike. This is a guy who supposedly goes across country on a machine that's about right for the driveway, a 350 Honda.
