Got her first real break by being cast as a dancer in John Hughes' Mejor solo que mal acompañado (1987). A natural comedienne, Debra was chosen from several dancers to improvise a scene with John Candy and Steve Martin. The scene was ultimately cut from the film, but that comedic role got Debra her SAG card.

Was named after Debbie Reynolds.

Debra was in a history class with Rob Lowe during her senior year at Santa Monica High School.

3D CGI animator Mark Kochinski used photos of Debra to create the nose-art for some of the fighter ships in Babilonia 5 (1993). One of the fighter ships was named "Earth Angel", which features a nude Debra with large angel wings.

During her audition for director Mark Pirro, Debra suddenly jumped up on the desk and started to dance. Her zany antics won her the role of Shanna Shallow in Deathrow Gameshow (1987).
