Watched on Day 2 of Glasgow Frightfest.
Not what I'd expected from the title. I loved this and it was my top film of the weekend at Frighfest Glasgow 2025.
The firefighter setting gave me "Rec" vibes, but this is a very different film and it quickly took on a life of its own. The set d signs were first class with great colour tones mixing with the torrential rain to add to a rotting and fetid atmosphere.
Effective in every aspect at ramping up the tension and then maintaining it for the duration. Really tight editing and storytelling ensure there are no baggy moments.
What elevated this to top tier though was the brilliant performances by all the cast, but especially those by Marjorie Estonia's Ana and the two young girls playing the young Ana and Lia.
GFT Glasgow Frightfest Film UK Premier.

I watched this at Dundead Horror Film Festival in May 23.
Beautifully filmed with a great soundtrack this allegorical tale of a pandemic takes the divisions that raised their ugly heads during Covid and turns them into a symptom of this fictional virus. Nature is the balancing factor and its ability to thrive from the demise of humanity shows that maybe it is humanity that is the virus.
A contemplative watch, with minimal scares, the chills and horror come more from what humans are capable of.
Dalila Droege directs a fine cast and joins a growing army of female directors who are bringing something new to the horror genre.
