I like this Japanese cartoon just because the story is so funny. The Inspector Zenigata is always chasing Lupin a Master Thief who plans to steal big ticket items for his girl Mine Fujiko. The problem is he always runs into trouble along the way and seems to be able to take on whole armies with his friends Jigen and Goemon. Maybe not for everyone but I really like it.
An old man gives Lupin a jewel called the "twilight", telling him it is the key to a nation's "hidden treasure". Lupin decides to go after the treasure, which happens to be all the way in Morocco. As with any Lupin film, do not compare it to the Castle of Cagliostro. Lupin films are like Bond films where you don't need to think too much to enjoy them. Cagliostro is in a league of its own, from great director Hayao Miyazaki.
The story is way to simple, set up just throw in what we've seen in every other Lupin film. A lot of the time characters turn up for no reason and rescue anyone just to about to be caught or killed or made otherwise uncomfortable.
Animation is basic. Nothing special. Could of been a lot better compared to previous Lupin films. Seeming this was made for television instead of cinema, I suppose the movie's budget must come into thought here.
The Lupin theme music plays, all the characters turn up, Jigen shoots fast, Goemon shoots stuff, Fujiko seduces people and basically every Lupin cliche occurs. In James Bond terms, this is like Lupin's "A View to a Kill". A few good scenes but you won't remember much the next day. The only reason for that is that there is nothing to differ it from the manysome other Lupin movies and shows available.

Lupin is given half of a diamond known as the "Twilight". He is told that the diamond is in fact a key to an even larger treasure located in Morocco. Meanwhile, Inspector Zenigata has a new commissioner, willing to give him all the resources he needs to catch Lupin. The plot thickens as it appears that multiple parties are interested in getting the treasure.
I will be comparing this film to other entries in the Lupin franchise. This film is on the cheaper end when it comes to animation. This film is very light on series regulars like Jigen, Goemon and even Zenigata doesn't have much to do. We need more Jigen, he is the coolest guy. Fujiko has never looked better, but she is little more than eye candy in the grand scheme.
The setting doesn't give too much to work with. It is just a whole lot of desert sand. There are long stretches of time where it is just Lupin riding a camel through the vast sea of sand.
The villains aren't all that interesting, they kind of wear this KKK uniform and are involved in a territorial battle with the "Geltics".
But the movie has an undeniable charm, carried mainly by its thieving protagonist. The action is exciting, and the jokes are really good. Particularly one joke at the end that makes the whole thing worth it.
The film is much like the Twilight Diamond, pretty to look at, but not a complete gem.

Lupin iii film 18
Out of Lupin films this is one of the ones that I would recommend. An adventure in Morocco where the environment is the one thing that strikes the most along with Lala beautiful eyes, as they focused on them where Lupin falls in love. There's quite a bit of fan service too.
As for the characters, Lupin friends always appear when in need, but most of the story in focused between Lupin and Lala.

Dulune, a dying old-time thief with life support has given Lupin a a small diamond, called the Twilight Gemini that's a key to opening a legendary treasure in Morrocco. Dulune asks Lupin a favor in seeking out the treasure for him before he departs from this world.
After all the years Lupin's had with Dulune, he couldn't refuse a request from an old friend when it involves treasure. So he heads towards Morocco only to be tracked by a group of Assassins and a tribe that want the treasure for themselves. And will kill off anyone who gets in the way. With the help of Lupin's friends and a group of rebels, this won't be as boring of an adventure as it turns out to be.
I didn't get why some people hate this one so much at first. And I kept hearing it was the worst Lupin TV movie of all time. But I can tell it's because it focuses on Lupin a lot and very little screen time on his comrades than the previous ones. Besides that, I think it was very good. It had allot of funny parts, action, and had more nudity in any Lupin anime.
This is a fun and enjoyable movie to watch. You can't get anything wrong with Lupin the 3rd.
Those who like Lupin the 3rd can check this one out. If you're not sure whether you'd like or not, just rent it and see.

¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesThis movie by and far features the most fan service of any Lupin movie, with several scenes featuring Fujiko Mine topless, and a scene of a nude Lara bathing. Also, it's notable for being the only film with a Lupin/Fujiko sex scene that doesn't get interrupted on-camera. FUNimation created an edited version of the film because of these concerns, although the full uncut version was also made available. When FUNimation later re-released Twilight Gemini as part of the "First Haul" box set, they accidentally issued it with the edited version. An uncut copy replacement was made available to those who had purchased the edited version, and the mistake was corrected in later releases.

Inspector Zenigata: Well, now I gotcha, Lupin! You're under arrest!
Arsène Lupin III: Pops, you might want to focus more on not getting shot!
- Créditos adicionalesThe closing credits are a sequence of Lorre belly-dancing, interspersed with a montage of Lupin's gang and Zenigata leaving Morocco.
- Versiones alternativasHere is a list of the changes that occurred in the edited version:
- 1. Jigen's "hell" changed to "heck."
- 2. Conversation in train car between ICPO woman and Lupin cut almost completely.
- (Lupin barely sits down with the woman and Zenigata immediately barges in on him)
- 3. Bedroom scene with Fujiko, Lupin, and Sadachiyo greatly abbreviated.
- 4. Leering shots on Fujiko's body and shots of ogling crowd omitted.
- 5. Fujiko showing off her cleavage a bit in the police station omitted.
- 6. Camera pan down Fujiko's buttocks in the police station replaced with a reversed
- animation of her moving in to kiss Lupin. No dialog was removed or changed.
- 7. Scene inside the abandoned building re-edited to omit the shot of Lupin pulling the
- Twilight from Fujiko's top. No dialog was removed.
- 8. When Sadachiyo puts his sword to Lara's neck, the dripping blood is slightly reduced.
- 9. Sequence where "Galoux" shoots the 3 Geltic prisoners cut, along with a prisoner's line,
- "Galoux, you can't!"
- 10. The scene where Sadachiyo "tortures" Fujiko is mostly cut.
- 11. Lupin's "Where am I? Did I die? Is this heaven? Or Hell?" becomes "Where am I? Did I
- die? Am I dead? Oh, no...."
- 12. Shots of Lara removing her jacket and bandanna cut.
- 13. Pink digital 2-piece string bikini added to Lara's figure during her bathing sequence.
- 14. Scene of Lara bathing lightly abbreviated in a few spots (presumably to decrease costs
- of digital editing).
- 15. Scene of Fujiko tied to the woodwork in the Gelt separatists' hideout abbreviated. Some
- video during this scene was zoomed-in to edit out Fujiko's cleavage and underwear.
- 16. Scene of Jean-Pierre holding Lara hostage significantly abbreviated, omitting the shot
- of him ripping her top, and of her being tossed aside.
- 17. Sequence where Jean-Pierre is shot is edited to omit blood.
- 18. Lara's top digitally re-drawn over her shoulder and chest as she lands onto the truck.
- 19. Shot of Fujiko walking towards the camera in the treasure room cut.
