If You Thought Pablo Schreiber Was Bad in Halo, His ‘Law & Order: Svu’ Cameo Was Even Worse for a Terrible Reason
Image
Halo‘s Pablo Schreiber once played a villain who gave nightmares to Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson in Law & Order: Svu. Schreiber played the role of William Lewis, a serial r*pist and killer, in the series, who had an expanded arc that lasted for seven episodes. Schreiber’s character remains one of the best-remembered villains of the long-running series, especially after he traumatized Svu‘s main protagonist Benson.

However, not everyone was a big fan of Schreiber’s William Lewis storyline. Some felt that the storyline was stretched out and they also shared that they hated how the episodes were handled. Interestingly, Halo, in which Schreiber played the lead, was canceled after two seasons at Paramount+.

“I don’t necessarily agree with every plot twist”: Not Pablo Schreiber, Legendary Master Chief Va Steve Downes Says The Halo Show is Held Together by a Female Star
Image
After just two seasons, Paramount+’s Halo show was dropped. This was quite disappointing, considering the journey to get a live-action adaptation for the franchise was long and arduous.

The Halo TV didn’t live up to the initial hype due to various reasons. (Image via Paramount+)

The reason why the show was a disaster for the fans of the franchise was due to the depiction of Master Chief, the Unsc, and the Covenant, among many other characters and crucial events.

However, despite all that, the show did do quite a few good things, and according to the original Master Chief actor Steve Downes, one of them was to cast the voice of Jen Taylor.

Who Is Phyla In Guardians Of The Galaxy 3? The Comic Origins Of The New Team Member
Image
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" ended with a new team of Guardians led by Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper). One of their number was Phyla (Kai Zen), a young white-haired girl and freed test subject of evil geneticist the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

If you're a comics fan, then yes, you likely realized that this was indeed the Marvel Cinematic Universe incarnation of the hero Phyla-Vell. If you only watch the movies, you're still thinking (to quote Korath the Pursuer), "Who?!" Well, let me explain.

In the comics, Phyla is the daughter of Captain Marvel — the alien warrior Mar-Vell, not Carol Danvers. Annette Benning played a female version of Mar-Vell in 2019's "Captain Marvel," but the character is traditionally male. Mar-Vell and his progeny are Kree, the imperious race to which "Guardians of the Galaxy" villain Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace) belonged. The Kree have both blue and pink-shaded skin...

Jordan Elsass
Jordan Elsass will not reporise his role as Jonathan Kent in the upcoming third season of “Superman & Lois.”

The actor “has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to ‘Superman & Lois’ for season three due to personal reasons,” Warner Bros. Television said in a statement. “The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast.”

Pablo Schreiber in Halo (2022)
Halo Episode 1 Review: Contact
Pablo Schreiber in Halo (2022)
This Halo review contains spoilers.

Halo Episode 1

2022 is a strange time to release a Halo TV show. While the franchise was a hot topic in Hollywood in the 2000s, the Halo series as a whole seems like less of a juggernaut today. While the latest game, Halo Infinite, was well received, there simply isn’t the whole-hearted enthusiasm the series garnered in the days of the original Xbox and Xbox 360. Is the age of Halo over? Is the TV show the start of a new golden age for the franchise?

The first episode answers “no” to both questions, while offering up some decent sci-fi entertainment. There’s some geeky fun to be found in “Contact,” if not quite enough polish and shine.

Quick clarification: the TV series is not canon to the games, per se. Instead, an alternate “Silver timeline” established for the show allows the creators to mix-and-match familiar concepts from the games,...

‘Halo Infinite’ Will Be ‘The Next Chapter’ in Master Chief’s Story, Says 343i Writer
It’s official: “Halo: Infinite” is “Halo 6”.

Microsoft unveiled “Halo Infinite” as the next mainline title in the “Halo” series at E3, but some fans were confused if this latest entry was a direct successor to “Halo 5: Guardians”, or another unnumbered spin-off title like fan-favorite “Halo Odst”.

As reported by GameSpot, Jeff Easterling—a writer and content producer at 343 Industries— has now confirmed via a recent Mixer livestream that “Infinite” is indeed the next main title.

“It is Halo 6,” Easterling said. “You should just consider it Halo 6. Don’t think of it as a weird prequel kind of thing. It’s the next story. It’s the next chapter in what is going on.”

While not else about the sequel has been shared publicly, Steve Downes is confirmed to reprise his role as the voice of the Master Chief in “Halo Infinite”, with this game refocusing the story...

Steve Downes Will Return as Master Chief in ‘Halo Infinite’
Steve Downes
Steve Downes will reprise his role as the voice of the Master Chief in “Halo Infinite,” the actor confirmed in a tweet Tuesday morning. The game was unveiled at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing.

On Monday, June 11, the official “Halo” Twitter account shared an image of the Master Chief’s helmet, taken from the announcement trailer for the upcoming “Halo” sequel, with a caption: “Are you ready to get back to work?”

Downes quoted the tweet with his own response. “I was born ready,” he said.

The actor and former disc jockey, who’s starred as the Master Chief in five previous installments of Microsoft’s flagship sci-fi series, announced his retirement from radio in February 2015. This prompted speculation among fans that Downes’s time in the part could be coming to an end following “Halo 5,” released in October of that year. A tweet from September 28, 2015, seemed to reinforce the idea.

‘Halo: The Fall of Reach’ VOD Review
Stars: Jen Taylor, Steve Downes, Michelle Lukes, Brittany Uomoleale, Travis Willingham | Directed by Ian Kirby

This new animated series is adapted from the original book, Halo: The Fall of Reach, and follows the youth and shaping of Spartan 117, The Master Chief…

Halo - say that word to any gamer (and even a few non-gamers) and they will know what you’re talking about. It’s huge. As a flagship title, it dominated my teenage Xbox years and I am sure many of my friends remember how appalling I was (and still am) at the first person sci-fi shooter which defined a generation. Of course there have been books, comics, spin-offs of the series, and The Fall of Reach is the latest animated film to come out.

Following the story of the first book, Halo: The Fall of Reach looks at the back-story of the Master Chief, how he was created,...

Watch Halo 5: Guardians’ Incredible Opening Cinematic
Microsoft

When you think about it, it was only a matter of time before the group-focussed Halo 5: Guardians started taking influence from the world-dominating Marvel superhero films, or in particular, The Avengers.

As such, come the point Microsoft and 343 Industries needed to land with a rapturous bang – and one large enough to remind everyone “Hey, Halo 5’s still coming this year!” – they elected to put out what appears to be at least the entire opening cinematic from Guardians.

Starring Nathan Fillion and Steve Downes as two of the titular Guardians (named Fireteam Osiris), alongside the as-yet fairly mysterious Jameson Locke, played by Ike Amadi as the Spartan who’ll be going up against Master Chief.

Considering how potentially risky Halo 4’s narrative could’ve been had it not been handled with care, delving into the machinations of the Chief’s purpose as a killing machine paid dividends in proving...

Halo 5 Pushed Back To 2015, Says Master Chief’s Voice Actor
Despite Microsoft’s reaffirmation, Halo 5 will not be released this year – according to the voice of Master Chief himself. Steve Downes, voice actor for the Spartan hero, also added fuel to rumors of a Halo 2 Anniversary remake, saying:

“I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5, I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.”

This contradicts Microsoft’s public stance on the series, with Senior PR Manager for the franchise, Rob Semsey, stating on Twitter in January:

Rest assured your next Halo journey Will begin in 2014. #staycalm

— Rob Semsey (@RobSemsey) January 6, 2014

The highly anticipated follow up to 2012′s Halo 4 was first revealed at E3 last year, though no official date or title for the game was given. However, with Halo 4 launching a new story trilogy, it’s logical to assume the upcoming Xbox One title will...

An Interview with Steve Downes - Bringing Master Chief to Life
I recently had the chance to sit down for a minute and speak with Steve Downes, better known in gaming circles as the voice of Master Chief. Steve has had a packed career, but he is most famous for his time voicing Spartan 117. In our brief sit-down we touched on how he's adjusted to life after Chief, the transition from Bungie to 343 studios, and a peek behind the curtain on voicing one of Halo 4's most memorable scenes.

Before we get started just wanted to say thank you to the wonderful guys and gals at Gmx (Geek Media Expo) for affording me the opportunity to speak with Steve.

Matt Mueller: Hi Steve, thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me today. As you know, gamers are a pretty dedicated group of fans. With all of your experience in radio and commercials, while much different from games,...
