David Bowie considered the band as such a big inspiration that he wanted to work with them, which was one of the reasons why he went to Berlin. However, the band declined the offer. As a tribute to band member Florian Schneider-Esleben, Bowie wrote the song "V-2 Schneider" for his album "Heroes".
