Brazil’s Globo, Latin America’s biggest media company, has sealed an exclusive SVOD deal on a trio of high-profile drama series – NBC-aired “Nurses,” The CW’s “Burden of Truth” and “Mary Kills People”- all sold by Entertainment One (eOne).

Announced in the run-up to next week’s NATPE Virtual Miami 2021 market, the exclusive licensing pact, involving over 70 hours of original drama, will see all the three dramas made available on Globo’s premium Ott service Globoplay, Brazil’s biggest domestic video streaming platform and one of the fastest-growing of large Latin American TV services.

Deal takes in seasons one and two of “Nurses” and life-of-series for legal thriller “Burden of Truth” and the ethics-questioning drama “Mary Kills People.” It was brokered by David Hanono, VP of sales, Latin America, eOne.

Despite cancellation, Hannibal remains a firm favorite among fans, with many hoping that the critically acclaimed series will eventually be revived. Well, according to series creator Bryan Fuller, not only is a fourth season a distinct possibility, but he would also like to focus on the most famous story from the saga, The Silence of the Lambs.

"It will be interesting to see what happens with the show moving forward or whether there is ever to be a Silence of the Lambs miniseries with this cast. The great thing about the idea - with members of the cast in terms of where we're going - is that if we are going to take five years, six years, seven years or what have you and everyone's still interested in coming back then that's just how long they've been on the lam, as it were. Then the story picks up from that point and we'll adapt.

Canadian drama Mary Kills People is heading to the UK after British broadcaster Channel 4 acquired the thriller from eOne. The deal is a life of series agreement for the show, which originally launched on Global in Canada in 2017.

The show, which has been sold to more than 110 territories around the world, follows Dr. Mary Harris, played by Caroline Dhavernas, an overworked single mother and ER doctor, who lives a double life helping terminally ill patients with assisted deaths. She has managed to stay under the radar but her double life gets complicated and when her world starts to unravel, Mary realizes she’s going to have to fight dirty if she’s going to stay in the killing game. Jay Ryan stars as Joel, one of Mary’s terminally ill clients, but a mutual attraction blurs the lines of their doctor-patient relationship and Richard Short plays Des, Mary’s trusted partner in crime.

While Lifetime hasn't yet announced it has renewed Mary Kills People for season three, that does not mean it is cancelled. Last year, although the Global renewal was announced on June 5th, Lifetime didn't announce until July 28th. Jay Ryan has joined the cast of “It: Chapter 2” as the adult version of Ben Hanscom, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The younger version of the character was played by actor Jeremy Ray Taylor in the first theatrical installment.

“It: Chapter Two” will star James McAvoy, Bill Hader, and Jessica Chastain as the adult versions of Stanley’s friends, Bill, Richie, and Beverly. You have to see this impressive sci-fi short film titled Hyperlight, about two astronauts on a cool space ship traveling far to another place in the galaxy in another star system. Set at a time when humans have just achieved faster-than-light travel, this short has an ambitious concept but director Nguyen-Anh Nguyen pulls it off so amazingly well, with some slick VFX work and captivating sci-fi story.
