Vaudeville monologist and dancer, in films from 1925. Often played second leads under contract to RKO and 20th Century Fox, by the 1940's reduced to starring in B-movies for Poverty Row studios like PRC. Made a comeback in television from the mid-1950's, notably in support of star in the adventure series "Soldiers of Fortune".

Supporting actor, usually in light roles, for four decades in Hollywood.

First employed in the industry as a prop man.

Was the son of a military surgeon and groomed for an army career, but dropped out of military school and went to Hollywood instead.

Chandler had been an avid amateur auto racer, until his wife filed for a restraining order to make him stop as he had promised to do upon their marriage.
